I have their plugin, which is great but looks like their website might have gone offline beginning of this year. Anyone had any contact with them recently?

EDIT - thank heavens EffectGrid is back soon once they get their hosting changed over. So relieved as this is one of the most useful plugins I have

https://www.effectgrid.com/ is now back - great plugin and highly recommended

I know that I’ve heard of this plug-in before, but I didn’t know that it could split the processing into 9 bands. That’s pretty cool.

Not fond of mini plugin hosts myself, interesting though...

Even just to split the signal into freq by amplitude bands it is worth it to me

not the same at all - that is just frequency bands, like BlueCat's MB-7 but simpler.
Effect Grid does frequency and amplitude

I see. Does that mean being able to apply a peak envelope follower to plugin parameters?

Seems cool.
Though I'd recommend to first check the FREE and super powerful Waves StudioVerse, very cool to build multiband chains with macros, etc.. !!

Anyway, I’ll try a demo of EffectGrid and see if the answer is yes.

Not something I have tried - what it means is that the incoming signal is split into three frequency bands and each of those frequency bands is split into three different amplitude levels. So you have a band of high frequency but soft sounds and a band of high frequency loud sounds. A band of quiet low frequency sounds and a band of middling level low frequency sound etc etc. And each of those bands can be treated internally with your own fx or externally by splitting it out to its own track using the bus system.

I cant see much similarity but how does StudioVerse split the signal amplitude into seperate parallel paths?

StudioVerse does not do amplitude splitting. Which I think is ok as this is imo a rarer use case.
But it does frequency splitting, and with more bands than Effect Grid. And Free.
And it also allows parallel bands, as well as macro controls that are smart (eg reverse mapping with custom range)

StudioVerse is a mighty tool, it can transform any plugin into multiband and allow to create your own channel strip and custom chains!

Use cases : want a saturation on a kick but not under a certain frequency ?
Want to turn your favourite T-Racks FX into a multiband channel strip ?
Got an FX that does not have a mix control and want it in a parralel chain?
Want to have different amp sims on your low mids and high mids?

StudioVerse does all this and more.

great but not a replacement for EffectGrid - more like Blue Cat's MB-7

Indeed.
All I'm saying is it's very cool and it is free.
Trying to save some people some money ;)
