the dev challenge usually happens during summer?
it has never happened during winter and spring?
it may have happened once or twice during autumn?

it is never announced ahead of time to nondevs?
the devs are contacted months ahead when a challenge is going to happen?
the devs are forbidden to share that info?

just check every summer?

Being that it is the KVR Developer Challenge, I think it’s a pretty safe bet that dev is for developer.

The Developer challenges have been a big bonus for KVR, but I don't know how many kids are using vst3, I can't say I've ever met one in person who didn't prefer the old ways before Steinberg lost its way.
