Augmented Persia

Another rompler from Arturia. €29 intro offer for me as owner of latest FX/V collections.

Post

Pretty disappointing, very little diversity. Good thing it was "only" 29 Euros.

I really don't like their offer system. I have owned every single instrument from the augmented series separately and the only offer I get is 149€ for the whole bundle, which is the price for the new instrument without deposit. Thank you Arturia...

I think at this point, an 'Augmented Sampler' with preset packs would be a better use of their time and would be something I would be more interested in. Having a single instrument I could mix and match samples and synthesis would be much more usefull to me and be a platform I could invest in. Generally speaking, all these individual romplers from various deleopers just feel like they're biased towards cash flow instead of addressing user needs.

I'll have a demo but I think I have more than enough of this type of thing with Arturia and NI Komplete.
29 bucks for me as well but I have stopped buying stuff just because its cheap, its clutter!
X32 Desk, i9 PC, S88MK3, S1, BWS, Live + PUSH 3, Osmose, RedShift 6 Pro3, Tempera, Syntakt, Digitone II, OP1-F, OPXY, Eurorack, TD27 Drums, Guitars, Basses, Amps and of course lots of pedals!

Disappointing? What were you expecting? It's 6 instruments from Evolution Series, who do this the best, in the Augmented player. How many instruments from Persia are there that they missed?

Post

This feels like a really bad time to release a plugin with this name specifically

I'm into the hybrid Persia thing and this seems quite promising, but for me it's almost impossible to evaluate as I have a ton missing sample dialogs eg

Also I can't make CC1 do anything. Even mapping it manually to the Morph control in the standalone settings doesn't work.

Yeah I really can't see the benefit of having a separate plugin for each one of these. I'd rather they all load in Pigments honestly, or at least have the option. Like how keyscape or trillian can load in Omnisphere. But at the very least a single Augmented Instruments plugin would be much better than opening each one separately.

I tend to agree with this sentiment. Just unify/consolidate the whole thing instead of all these separate products we need to install and have dependents plugins for. I’ve pointed that out to Excite Audio for their Bloom series as well.

If sales are the main concern; just do what you do already with Pigments etc; sell the different libraries (strings, horns, persia etc etc) as expansions for the one Augmented plugin. Then that augmented plugin can integrate with Analog Lab just as it does now, but the backend does not require to be a bunch of different, separate Augmented plugins.

Diminished Persia would be apt sadly.

Post

you realize these are most likely just pigments presets with custom macro guis?...they want to be able to sell these to people that don't own pigments...same thing NI is doing with the Play series...same philosophy as UVI...I'm sure UVI workstation is just falcon with functionality turned off...just makes more sense for development resource efficiency
Music had a one night stand with sound design.....And the condom broke

Post

They should do what UVI does. Sell the Augmented series as sound wares and have a free basic player to play them on, and then have them all just load into Pigments for those who own it for deeper mix and match editing

That way they can also include everything as separate products so they can continue to pad their V collection numbers for marketing and count them as new instruments
