Question, is there no way to make the MSEGs free looping?
Correct... MSEG's don't free loop.

You need to use an LFO for that.
Yeah found out some days ago. That's lame TBH. I hope they do it in an update, also add the trigger sources for MSEGs.

It's a bit of a mindfuck and great source of confusion if something is the main rhythmic trigger source and at the same time a receiver of exactly those triggers.

MSEGs are best suited for long evolving things. Why cut them short by retriggering them, and what from?

How about, instead, just change the MSEG itself over time, e.g. crossfade between different loops.

(I would happily look at a "not lame" synthesisers that have MSEGs which can be triggered by various sources other than the keyboard *and* act as VCA envelope of the voice... I must admit though, I know none...)

You mean, apart from modular systems, I presume? :)

That includes modular systems... There are no MSEG modules in Eurorack that can freely draw a single complex curve. Forget Zebra 3's MSEG morphing and polyphony.

I just spent the last hour experimenting with this.

As long as you keep at least one note on at all times, it does work.

Another option, I added the Bitwig Latch device in front of Z3 and then I could freely play chords and the MSEG (in Single Mode) stayed in rhythm.

It's one of those feature requests that isn't based on practical sound design, but rather the "I want every possible feature, just cause I can think of it" method.

Awesome! It's very much a work in progress. :)

I ran across something that doesn't seem like it should be intended behavior. Perhaps it is.

Init a patch
Go to the Pitches Tab and on Pitch 1
Assign Pressure to Vibrato Depth
Assign Mod Wheel to Depth as well
Now go back and select Pressure again:

I then get this on two different systems (Win 11 and 10):

Z3 Vibrato 042326.png

It happens with the default theme as well so I don't think it's a custom theme issue. The Depth amount can still be changed but the now yellow circle does not change, it remains full.

There is one for VCV, though... Actually 8 MSEGs in one. :P

I think I did yesterday, same one:

I just wanted to see if there was any feedback on the progress so far. I did lighten up the knobs a bit as well so maybe that will help with contrast. Still looking for the knob pointers to lighten them up to the same level as the slider caps center line. The end goal is to make a light theme but I'm pretty far away from pulling that off.

Duh... I completely forgot about software modular. Can retrigger MSEG's in Bitwig's Grid too.
