Congrats for the album, I guess I owe to check it out :)

However, donating to charity a la Rumpelrausch Taips is still the coolest brand of donationware, respect.

JZ, a suggestion, or someone please let me know if you can do this. It would be nice if you were able to set a recursive browse of some sort. Sometimes samples are so organized and so nested that you may have to navigate 5, 6, 7 folders deep to get to 10 samples. Example, directory structure of samples on the new Computer Music Magazinr CM82 disc:

\
.\16bit 44_1\
..\CM Classic Brass
....\Brass Samples
......\Bb Trumpet
.........\Harmo Mute
............\Hard Layer
............\Soft Layer

It would be cool to be able to just hit Brass Samples and listen to previews for all subdirectories of that. Really shouldn't affect the copying/deleting at all but makes previewing and finding easier.

Hi Mn
Interesting idea, I see where you are coming from.

It should be possible to do what you're saying.

You want to be able to view and preview every file, and every file in every sub sub folder at the same time, right?

I'll have a think about this for the next update. As it stands the explorer window won't allow for this kind of display. Nothings impossible though

thanks for the suggestion

Yes, basically allow an optional recurvsive scan from the current directory and include all subdirectories. Take the results and display them all in the right pane. This could be optional, and it could be implemented multiple ways:

- a check/button on the interface
- in a right-click context menu for the directory name in the left pane an option that says "show recursively" or "include subdirectories" or something.
- in your file filters you could add "current directory only" and "current directory and subdirectories" or something like that.

Two other suggestions occured to me.

I know you apparently just got the dragbox concept going and it works pretty well. If whenever you flesh out your drag and drop implementation it is still a dragbox and not straight drag and drop, then if you were to allow for multiples somwhow that would help. In other words, if the dragbox survives, make it multiple slot if possible.

Also, make Loophorse a VST! This seems a good competitor to ConcreteFX's MidiView (also free) and it's possible that it would make the drag and drop into hosts easier. I can see it being nice to use within energyXT.

Just suggestions, please don't feel pressured to pursue them. Thanks again for the cool app.

Hi MN

Yeah, the multiple file drop box is something I've been thinking about. I'm toying with the idea of being able to send the whole copy list to the dropbox, that way a user could build up a selection of files.

I think I can see a way to add the sub folder thingy! :)

cheers

OK, I'll stop, I promise. :hihi: Just add it to the wishlist.

One more: Is it possible to allow for MIDI files, in addition to the default preview, a selection of the MIDI ports on the computer/soundcard? What I'm envisioning is something I've always wanted: an easy way to audition MIDI files in multiple synths.

I envision being able to right click a MIDI clip in the explorer pane, select from a list of installed MIDI ports/channels just like in a track in a sequencer, and then send the MIDI to that port instead of playing the default GM synth or whatever. The mechanics are a bit hazy to me at this hour, but ultimately what I'm aiming for is to be able to set up project in energyXT that has my favorite synths set up, possibly listening to individual channels, and I just pump the MIDI from Loophorse into energyXT, who routes it among the synths and plays it for me.

I can set it up to preview the MIDI clip in Kubk and Wusikstation simultaneously, or Kubik on one channel and Wusik on another, or something like that - that's really irrelevant to Loophorse, but that's what I'm seeing outboard of Loophorse. With minimal fuss I can preview MIDI snippets in any number of synths.

Thanks for considering.

Hi MN

I think I can get LH to select a MIDI out port through MCI. I guess it would scan for available ports and then return a list.

I'll have a think

Suggestions are cool! There's no point creating software that no one wants! :)

I've just been informed the LoopHorse will handle 24 bit files but it's hardware dependant.
