What instruments are in your production template in 2026?

I don't really save default templates either.
But I've long realized I have mental ones, however compartmentalized I make them.
I do a similar thing in how I approach my painting.
The "template" is always an empty "canvas".

In a painting analogy I think the template instruments are the brushes.
The sounds are the colors and paint.
And the sequencer / timeline / whatever it is called is the canvas.

Not exactly as I perceive it, but sure, that's one way to look at it.
(I more often use "brushes" as the mixer/EQ.
The colors are sometimes not paint at all.
But the canvas always starts as a void of sequence, time and space.)

Depends on the genre and this is very generalized.

Rock - MODO Drums, MODO Bass, Real Les Paul, Strat, Rick, whatever.

Pop - Pianoteq Piano, MODO Drums, MODO Bass.

Dance/Electronic - Battery 4 Drums

And all the above gets thrown out the window when I get in a mood.
