Set Vary 2 to Stretch

Or use MSEG.

Thank you, that is indeed what happened. :dog: I'm old and senile, that's my excuse and I'm sticking with it.

Thank you, I will add those right now. :tu: What software do you use to edit .svg files?

EDIT: Yes those look very nice indeed. But that brings up a question, since those files go directly into the main Data folder we'll have to make sure to keep backups because there is a chance that folder will get overwritten during an update? At least I seem to remember that happening with Zebra 2.

I am on Mac, to edit SVGs (just colors  ) I use MacSVG.

I have put those modified SVG files into the theme folder (created an "Images" folder structure next to "Scripts", like so .. (and kept the original ones in the Zebra 3 folder structure)

Any text editor can edit SVGs, it's just XML inside! :)

Thanks, I get it now, each theme can have custom graphics and if Z3 doesn't see any in the chosen theme folder it will just use the ones in the default Data folder. Makes sense. :)

Thanks I've got GIMP which will edit .svg files but I've never had any luck using it, my fault obviously. I can edit .bmps and .pngs all day long in Paint Shop Pro but for some reason .svg files have always given me trouble. :?

But can you change the colors of an element inside of an .svg file using just a text editor?

Oh I see it now. "View Page Source" reveals the Hex colors. Thanks!

Unfortunately I'm having other issues with Z3 in FL Studio today. I can record notes from my midi keyboard but the audio shuts off after a short blip and I can't hear what I'm playing. I've tried every possible combination of Fixed Size Buffers with no luck so far. I'll have to keep working on it further.

EDIT: Okay I figured It out. It's Z3's setting option "Auto Reset on Playback". Set it to Off and the problem is solved. So if anyone is using FL Studio and encounters the same issue that's the solution here.

I wanted to make some audio examples of Zebra 3's wonderful filters in action. I did manage to get this done by manually moving notes around:

Yes but it will affect the decay as well

Urs wrote: Thu Apr 23, 2026 3:10 pm It's a bit of a mindfuck and great source of confusion if something is the main rhythmic trigger source and at the same time a receiver of exactly those triggers.

MSEGs are best suited for long evolving things. Why cut them short by retriggering them, and what from?

How about, instead, just change the MSEG itself over time, e.g. crossfade between different loops.
It's one of those feature requests that isn't based on practical sound design, but rather the "I want every possible feature, just cause I can think of it" method.

A company releases the successor of probably the greatest soft synth of all time after 20 years of development, KVR nerds buy synth, make no music with it, and then create a thread 18 pages long focused on custom GUI themes. 😂. Okay, okay, I’m just teasing! I love the GUI discussion actually. No pitchforks please!

Post

No pitchfork, I know you're just teasing but I've made over 120 patches for Z3 so far, does that count? As for making music with it, I have other synths I prefer for that task due to Z3's missing features that are important to me. So "probably the greatest soft synth of all time" is obviously subjective but Z3 is no doubt a great synth.

As for the importance of a GUI, after the sound, features, and functions of a synth it's the most important thing. It's what you look at for hours on end (at least in my case) so having something that pleases your eyes and more importantly doesn't irritate your eyes is very important to productivity.

(Not aimed at you in particular just anyone who dismisses the importance of a comfortable GUI)

Maybe that's why the Editor key commands (i, s, p, etc.) were not working for you as well.
