I have noticed that producers around me almost always have one or two completely unrelated tech things going on in parallel, the kind of thing they tab into when ears need a reset between mixing passes.

For me it has slowly turned into a small tennis stats project I help a friend with (https://phantomtennis.app/en/). Mostly Python, light modeling, totally outside music. It scratches a different itch but uses the same patient back and forth a long mix demands.

Curious what other people here keep going on the side. Hobby code, hardware DIY, weird data experiments, even non technical stuff. Just trying to see how the brain wanders when the DAW is closed.

I browse the internet, listen to music, do some things in Unreal Engine, design cover art, and play a couple video games.
