Here is my track for this contest. I was able to finish the base track before my Spring break, and I am happy with how it sounds. I may still edit it on my laptop while I am away.

I used a Novation Launchkey Mk4 to play and hold down notes. Recorded and edited in Bitwig Studio 6.0
18x Zebra 3 Beta (including 8 instances contained in a "Drum Machine")
3x EQ-5
2x Reverb
1x Delay-4
1x Delay+
1x Arpeggiator

This is my submission for the month.

My impression of the synth follows what I already experienced and expressed with Zebralette 3. It can obviously do miracles, but for me it's not as intuitive as Zebra 2 used to be (maybe I just need to read the manual...) Also, the CPU hungriness is killer.

Produced in Cakewalk. 12 instances of Zebra 3. epicCLOUDS, kHs Delay, OTT, W1 Limiter as the external FX.

This is a song about my recent dramatic relationship with wild blackcurrants. I submitted it earlier in the week but wanted to tweak the mix a bit more. The song is based around a pretty bonkers percussive patch.

Once again, everyone's work this month is truly incredible... it makes me feel quite ashamed of my own. For reasons I'm not entirely sure of, I ran into an issue this month where adding more than one track caused a System Overload, leaving me unable to do anything. Zebra 3 Beta is amazing, but because of that issue, I wasn't able to fully flesh things out. Here is my submission for this month.

That was a tough one. Zebra3 is obviously a very capable synth running on my not so capable potato. There already are a bunch great sounding presets. The Shakuhachi patch is marvelous, but unfortunately didn't in the track. Anyway, single instance, being very careful with chords, avoiding fast arps and immediatly freeze/record once I had something remotely useful got me there, kinda. Would love to use Zebra3 on a decent machine just to remain in the flow.

Daw: Reaper 7.69
Instances: 26x Zebra3 (builds 20977 and 21625)
Other Plugins:
2x U-HE Protoverb
1x ReaLimit

Dear vr pro 2
I think they allow freezing of tracks if needed. :)
I didn't need to for my track, but it may be possible.

This is in the rules:
"Also, If you need more performance / CPU a workaround is to freeze all the tracks."

Hello everyone! This is the first time ever I submit something for the KVR OSC, and this was not for the least complex and capable synthesizer

So I'm using 3 instances of Zebralette 3 + 21 instances of Zebra 3, using only the stock FX plug-ins from Ableton Live + Spaceship Delay (obviously) + ValhallaSuperMassive. It was really fun to do, and it allowed me to get a better feel for the Zebra 3 interface and its sound capabilities.

I have to say that at no point did I feel overwhelmed or stuck when it came to sound design. The plug-in was well suited to the musical genre I wanted to explore. I might change the mix before the submission period ends.

I think you can only use Zebra 3.

I think you can also use Zebralette 3 : )

There was a discussion somewhere (possibly Discord, I forget...) - but basically, because ZL3 is a subset of Z3 you're not gaining anything that is not already in Z3.

Richard or BJ can maybe chime in to confirm.

Zebralette 3 is basically a subset of Zebra 3, and it's patches can even be imported to Zebra 3 (though they lose the fx chain) so it should be fine. Please state with your submission details which you have used.

Note: earlier versions of Zebra or Zebralette are a different synth, thus not acceptable for this challenge.
I saw this message before starting to work on my submission. Basically Zebralette 3 uses the standard oscillator engine from Z3, and I wouldn't have the right to use the version which is based on Z2.

It was earlier in this thread.
