Messed with an old cassette 4tk recording using Logic's stem splitter. These recordings were made ping-ponging from one Porta 424 to another 424, circa 1992. We actually did a very good job with the levels, and now adding compression and a bit of EQ really brings it alive.
Oh, and a bass sim on the DI‘ed no fx bass.

Love the sounds and killer setup with the joystick next to Gliss. I’m definitely drooling over that combo!justin3am wrote: Wed Apr 15, 2026 4:34 pm I was playing with synthesizers when I was supposed to be doing something else…

After some decluttering, I lost a dedicated spot for the Push, so I decided to reorganize my desk/rack/cables. Took about 12 hours which is comparably not terrible, but tedious after labeling everything, finding creative ways to hide and organize cables before putting it all together for testing.
All of it done… but after everything, I wish I had placed the Interface on the Left so the volume knobs would be closer. I think I had written a note to myself somewhere that if I ever changed it up, to place the interface and expander on the Left. Too bad I don’t remember where that note is.
For now, I’m pretending that I’m just forcing myself to do some light stretching.

Thanks! As you can imagine, control surfaces are a big deal to me.
While I like Gliss a lot (it's very responsive), it does too much. I wish it were easier to switch between the Control and Record modes. As it is, I have two Gliss modules and one is always in Record mode the other is always in Control mode. I'm anxiously anticipating their Trails X-Y controller, which I hope will make the deeper functions easier to access.
The Intellijel Joystick is great!

Doesn't sound like it has much to do with music, but I've been watching a lot of old movies. Movies can inspire songs.
Growing up in the '80s it's not surprising I became a movie buff, but its really what got me into making music in the first place. After watching Kids (1995) I had this idea for a song even though I had no instruments to play. So it took five years to actually make the thing. Anyway, I like the unloved, forgotten movies that got lost and YouTube is helping me find them.

Finally got around to installing OP-X PRO-3. Had a mess with it, 80ish noodle, includes some copy, paste and quantize. I played all parts.

Last night I was using my new set up of Metal Fetishist into Fusion Box into Cosmos
Anyway I started using OXI One to sequence M.F. and I wanted to use it to sequence Cascadia since it comes with a nice hi hat sound but I couldn't get the MIDI out of OXI One to trigger Cascadia.
Does anyone know what I might have been doing wrong? Cascadia is supposed to switch to whichever MIDI channel you send it so that shouldn't be it. IDK Very frustrating.
I was going out the TRS of OXI One through the adapter to DIN MIDI in the back of Cascadia.
CV gate to sequence Cascadia worked, but I wanted to use MIDI.

could it be the wrong TRS-DIN adaptor? According to the manual OXI 1 is Type A, and the adaptor is black. However it also mentions they do a grey TRS to DIN5 Clock adaptor.Constructed Identity wrote: Tue Apr 28, 2026 2:23 pm I was going out the TRS of OXI One through the adapter to DIN MIDI in the back of Cascadia.

Played the VSL Blüthner 1895 I bought a couple of weeks ago. Excellent dynamic range, and sweet tone.

Mostly been working in the yard but I’m also working on new material for upcoming live performances. My next show will be on May 24 and I’ve got a lot of new stuff.
After years of using my Octatrack the same way (one song per project, only using one bank/part), I have built a new set where the whole performance is in a single project. Since tempo can be set per pattern in the latest OT firmware, it’s much easier to keep everything in one project, then use banks/parts to have completely different configurations from group of patterns to the next. Much easier to do seamless transitions this way!

I think I only have MIDI adapters that came with things that have TRS MIDI.whyterabbyt wrote: Tue Apr 28, 2026 3:13 pmcould it be the wrong TRS-DIN adaptor? I first tried to just use a cable from the OXI's MIDI out to Metal Fetishist in, but I just have patch cables laying around and I didn't want to search for a 1/8th TRS so I thought, "I'll use the adapter", but no luck
