Hi everyone,

I’m writing this because I’ve been looking for a definitive, high-quality sample library of the mythical 70s Ampeg Baby Bass. As many of you know, this instrument is the backbone of Latin music and classic Salsa.

Its unique "thump" and vintage percussive soul were made famous by iconic bassists like Salvador Cuevas, Rubén Bass, and Bobby Valentín. While there are some options on the market, many of us are still waiting for a library that truly captures that authentic, vintage "dull" but punchy sound that defines the Fania era.

Are there any developers currently planning to deep-sample a well-maintained 70s unit? I would definitely be among the first to purchase it. The Latin music production community is always looking for that specific grit that only the original Baby Bass diaphragm pickup provides.

I would love to hear if anyone has something in the works or if there's enough interest here to put it on a developer's radar!
