What's even more of a pain is the 'what's new for me' has lots of stuff that isn't new for me - I already have: Valves Pro, Cremona Quartet Ensemble, Absynth 6, Erosia, Neutron, Nectar, Ozone, FXEQ. I guess it's my fault for supporting them early !Flowshi wrote: Tue May 05, 2026 4:49 pm Checking the "whats new for me", none of the stuff interests me at all.

it's always been a mess when it comes to "what's new for me" on their site. it's slop and i suspect it doesn't actually do anything other than throw up a bunch of defaults for everyone.mcbpete wrote: Tue May 05, 2026 5:00 pmWhat's even more of a pain is the 'what's new for me' has lots of stuff that isn't new for me - I already have: Valves Pro, Cremona Quartet Ensemble, Absynth 6, Erosia, Neutron, Nectar, Ozone, FXEQ. The problem with NI is the lack of focus. Way too many libraries and expansions. Instead of 6 vintage keyboards, make 1 with 6 presets and nice skins instead. Combine the 6 choirs, 18 Leap expansions and so on.
Komplete but scattered instead of focussed. I'll hop in when the sale comes. I will support them off course
Don't want them to go down.

I have a really fast computer, some good mics, vintage musical instruments, and lots of fancy software. Just need some talent

They are extolling the "breadth" of Komplete 26. Ok, but how many musicians are actually scoring using choirs, then moving on to country music, then ambient, then dystopian, then pop, then chamber music and R&b? If you're that good (or that scattered?) there's probably some session musician gigs for you but otherwise too much is too much.

Even then there are probably better solutions than spending all the money on all these Kontact Librariesburkek wrote: Tue May 05, 2026 6:09 pm They are extolling the "breadth" of Komplete 26. For me I own and actively use Omnisphere 3, HALion7, Korg Triton Extreme, and UVI Falcon. I am pretty sure if I wanted to score something using choirs, then moving on to country music, then ambient, then dystopian, then pop, then chamber music and R&B I could with no issues just using one of those and the factory sample libraries
If I need a violin I have hundreds of options for that, I don't need an expensive dedicated library with hundreds more
If I am ever hired to score a movie where hyper realistic violins are super important I would then have the budget just to hire an actual violinist to do so and if the budget isn't there for that than the violins in HALion7 will have to do. Or I can spend $25 and rent UVI Sonic Pass for a month
You certainly don't need expensive and vast libraries any more

I'm getting the same thing. Go to the site and it says $149.dayjob wrote: Tue May 05, 2026 4:50 pm i have K13 and bought Absynth 6 when it came out. update price for me is ~~$149~~ BUT when i click through by hitting the 'buy now' button it says $299. what a joke. even at $149.. no thanks.. but $299 is fckn laughable
there's absolutely nothing in there i want/need. kontak8.. meh.. izotope FxEq.. meh... shitload of sample based instruments.. meh..
Browse through and think that might not be such a bad deal.
Click buy now - Surprise!!! - $299
Ridiculous.

Komplete 26 is overwhelming.
If you need a good variety of great sounds, fx and synth Id say Omnisphere 3 is a better deal now.
You get a library that doesnt fill your SSD drive, 1 plugin, 1 interface with many different great sounds. And you also get bunch of FX as Omnisphere FX plugin.

Even if the piano player can't play, keep the party going.

checked again and for stuff which was removed from the standard edition after it was part of komplete 15 standard (AFAIK they've never done it before with products which are still active and supported)
Session Guitarist - Electric Mint: Removed from the Standard tier. It is now only included in the Ultimate and Collector's Edition bundles.
Session Bassist - Upright Bass: Removed from the Standard tier. It is now exclusively available in the Ultimate and Collector's Edition bundles.
iZotope Ozone (Mastering Effect): Downgraded. While Komplete 15 Standard included the fully-featured Ozone 11 Standard, Komplete 26 Standard has been downgraded to only include the basic Ozone 12 Elements version.
Acoustic Pianos: The total number of acoustic pianos included in the Standard bundle was reduced from 6 to 5. "The Gentleman" was removed, it was first added to the Standard edition in Komplete 10! so it was a part of the standard edition for 6 iterations, and was removed in 26.
As was mentioned also in the select editions, Massive x was replaced with the free massive x player.
