What Happened To Synth Edit Plugins?

There used to be a lot off stuff released on a regular basis, good stuff too. Now it seems to be a trickle. I'm quite surprised, especially as it exports as 64bit and Mac these days.
Any good stuff I might have missed?

You're right. The quality of SE plugins is improved a lot but now you must check the SE forums like this one to find SE devs.
https://groups.io/g/synthedit
It's easy to find me because I always upgrade my main products and support them.
A lot of SE devs did freewares, so Apple is not for us, personnally I stopped to translate my plugins based 100% with SE SEM to AU even if I could do, it's because I will not pay Apple 100 $ each year to have the rights to distribute my free plugins, I prefer also keep my time to do music ^^, so as I done hi quality plugins on Windows, I always continuous my work... So Apple is not our world, it's not an argument for us.
Apple OS is not a world for freewares and as the majoriry of SE devs were musicians, they built their plugins for their music, like me, when SE migrate to Apple, that broken all around 4 years !! And the 64 bit releases were ready to late and many SE devs look on other software or stopped their development.

There are now several companies and individuals releasing plugins which were made with SynthEdit. But as the quality of these plugin has improved and the quality of the graphic design has improved it's not so easy to know that they were made with SynthEdit.seafire wrote: Thu Sep 19, 2024 6:56 am There used to be a lot off stuff released on a regular basis, good stuff too. Plus there are now 'hybrid' plugins which use SynthEdit for the audio processing, and frameworks like JUCE for the graphics and to provide support for AAX, CLAP and other plugin formats. These plugins can compile down to a single file with all their resources built-in to the binary, so you might struggle to identify that these were made with SynthEdit.

The Dev put out a version that wouldn't/couldn't use a lot of modules from the previous version. This is a killer for me because I had special modules someone had coded for me and then they were useless.

SynthEdits new mac version is probably the biggest news this year. It's currently in beta-testing stage, aiming for proper release later this year.
Anyone brave to try the preview can head over to Discord to get the installer: https://discord.gg/wEQnRUNW
Requirements:
Apple Silicon Mac (M1, M2, or later)
macOS Tahoe or later
