MuChild

Holy Grail of compressors!

MuChild brings iconic vintage compressor with extra features like side-chain filter, external side-chain and wet-dry blend!

FEATURES

- INPUT : Will set input level. This knob can create wonders!

- THRESHOLD : Will set compression. You can simply combine it with INPUT and get smooth leveling or heavily saturated compression.

- TIME CONSTANT : Will set attack and release time.

- SC FILTER : HPF filter up to 1kHz.

- DC : Will set ratio and knee.

- OUTPUT : Clean output volume control.

- EXT SC : Will engage external side-chain.

- MIX : Will blend wet and dry signals.

(No oversampling. Embedded light-weight anti-aliasing)

Resizable interface. Simple "Bottom Right Corner Handle" to resize. 50% to 200%.

*Resizing Tip: When you duplicate plug-in, it will remember current state of GUI size. But if you load new instance, it will be opened at default size. To get rid of this issue, simply follow these steps;

1. Open plug-in for the first time

2. Resize GUI according to your screen resolution or you liking before setting any knobs

3. Save this state as default preset with your DAW

Now, you will be able to load new instances with same size.

(If you want to go default size, simply double click to resize handle.)

Cool. Is it Mono/Stereo/Mid-side?

Interestingly this is one of the few plugins that breaks Plugin Doctor's hammerstein view. Some kind of sample miss/match? Not reporting latency correctly?

Also the dry/wet mix when set to 0% isn't actually the fully dry and original audio signal, it's being filtered with a HPF.

There's also a quite noticeable lowpass of the overall signal which is unfortunate. I know this is supposed to be a homage to vintage units but that shouldn't automatically mean such a severe loss of high frequencies.
