BFD3 owners might disagree.
I own BFD3....like I said, people wont like all the choices, ultimately it will be a restructure and some NI stuff will probably vanish (but plenty did when it was just NI!)
X32 and 24C mixers, S88MK3, Live + PUSH 3, Osmose, RedShift 6, Pro3, S4, Tempera, Syntakt, Digitone, OP1-F, OPXY, TR-1000, Eurorack, TD27 Drums, Guitars, Basses, Amps and of course lots of pedals!

I also wonder what happens with Kontakt. It seems a no-brainer to keep it active, and incorporate support for it into other InMusic products. But as a standalone tool, I do wonder what direction they'll take with it.

I'm expecting the least supported things to fall off the vine and rot. A paring off of products.

Corporates always promise things will stay as-is, but then after a year or so they tend to change regardless.

Wow, LOL! I'm sure this will work out well.

Inmusic havent destroyed Moog or Akia (many think Akia MPC has benefited) so we can only hope for the best...it certainly isn't the worst case scenario and people won't like all of the choices Inmusic make, but at least its a music tech savvy business and not random VC.
The quality control of the ironically named Bob Moog Tribute Addition Mini Moog has been absolutely atrocious however. For a product that was a limited run of just 500 units there sure are a ton of quality control complains about what should be a flagship product

I'm not sure what to think of this, so I'll read opinions from strangers on the internet and agree with the one who sounds like they know what they're talking about.

Native Instruments is perfectly capable of doing that completely on its own.

Can you even imagine the chaos that will ensue if/when InMusic borks the Komplete installation process the way they did with BFD3? It's terrifying to think that that's a real possibility.

InMusic probably deserves some of the vitriol.
That said, I think they've done a pretty good job developing the MPC platform.
If you look at companies that could have swooped-in and bought NI, InMusic does make sense.
They have the infrastructure... and existing products that at least potentially make it a good fit.
How it actually works out... we'll see.

From a selfish standpoint, I'd like to see more NI options available for the MPC platform.
Kontakt (even a lighter version) running on MPC would be great.

I'd like to see NI actually get back to innovating.
Komplete 26 has a lot of content... but I already have Komplete 14 Collector's Edition.
Not much additional that I'd actually use.
I'm better off purchasing Kontakt 8 a-la-carte.

It’s merely the second place worst case scenario, with Music Tribe solidly in first.

I would have liked to have a Bob Moog Tribute Edition.
Love the look (wood).
Shame to hear the QC issues.

FWIW, Moog had QC issues prior to InMusic.
MoogOne was the single most frustrating musical instrument purchase I've ever made.
Sent it back to Moog to have them replace the voice-cards.
Same exact issues (horrible intonation problems)

Just wait for the coming mother of all mergers: inMusic Tribe — who will buy up all music companies then promptly burn it all down. :hihi:

I'll give you an example of the view from where I stand. For at least a decade people have been begging Air (InMusic) to make larger GUIs to support modern resolutions for their legacy plugins and they have failed to do so while continuing to sell them. I offered many times in the past to pay for such an update.

One of the N.I. plugins I own is Battery 4 which I would love to use more but is in desperate need of larger GUI sizes to be practical for use here.

So my faith that it will receive such larger sizes under the auspices of InMusic is pretty close to zero and so on....

Could the acquisition be worse news? Sure, some soulless Vampire Capitalist company could have bought them up for a quick flip. So it's good news that at least a company with a portfolio of music developers made the buy.

But InMusic would not have been my first choice for the takeover although I'm not sure who else would have the financial ability to make the deal. I just know there are companies I respect more than InMusic.

Does anyone know if Plugin Alliance was included in the package? I care as much if not more in some cases about their plugins than NI's.

Anyway like I said we'll see what the future holds but I guess the salient point is that there now appears to be a future for NI so that's a positive development.
