Hi all,

I've just released Cocteau Verb, a multi-stage effects processor combining stereo widening, BBD chorus, ping-pong delay, and three reverb algorithms: Verbity2 (Airwindows/Chris Johnson, MIT license), Bloom (adapted from Airwindows MV2, MIT), and Dattorro plate — in a single plugin.

It was built for a specific sound: the lush, textured aesthetic of late-80s and early 90s dream pop and shoegaze.
30-day free trial, $29 for a license.

I'm an engineer, producer, and musician based in Ohio with about 30 years in studios and on stages. The plugin was developed with AI-assisted coding tools alongside traditional development. The DSP design, testing, and creative direction are my own.

macOS (AU, VST3, CLAP) · Windows (VST3, CLAP) · Linux (VST3, CLAP)

I'm also releasing FM Radio Compressor — a free broadcast-inspired lookahead compressor. Same page, grab it while you're there.
Feedback welcome.

Sounds lovely, definitely captures the vibe!

I would be curious to know how the number of sales in the next couple of months.
It is such a fiercely saturated market, with many high quality products offered for free.
If I was to give feedback I'd encourage further work on features, the chorus and delay sections are too light imo.
The UI could of course have a bit more done, from in and out volume, to overall mix.
If I was creating such a tool I'd probably also try build in an LFO assignable to any parameter, plus some drift mode, and add a bitcrusher, saturation or other ways to create a more LoFi vibe.
Just some quick thoughts.

I'm kinda loving how Keith credits. On another forum I went looking in his licensing, but it turns out he's really up front about what pieces he's using, crediting them by name (which means you can go find them directly rather than guessing), but I didn't hear from him, he trusted that MIT license means MIT license.

You have to understand that in 2026 if everyone is socially expected to ask me personally for things like this, I'd be spending ALL my time emailing people back. That's kind of hellish :D so yeah, this all is interesting to watch. It's using this particular open source as intended. The rest is execution, and that part isn't my concern: people will find out what works, by trial and error.

I won't have people scolded for using MIT code as licensed. If I required that I get to build on his work in turn I'd have picked GPL, and I didn't (and it wouldn't help in 2026, there's license breaking as a service now, through AI). As far as I'm concerned the licensing part is handled as well as it possibly could've been, I didn't even have to take a break from work :)

Hi. Just a heads-up that the "HOME" in your webpage header links to "https://endoftheworldplugins.com/?page_id=120" which doesn't seem to exist. The logo links to what seems to be the home page, though.
Surely there must be consensus by now...

Thank you, Chris! :) It means a lot to me to hear you say that. I figured MIT meant I didn't have to check with you first, but apparently people do anyway. ;)

Sure they do, but there's gonna be 500 of them a day. I'm just here trying to make new sounds for people to use, and that includes code-wrangling people where 'use' is 'make a plugin out of other plugins'. I'd encourage you to get creative (but you're already pursuing something specific, so full marks there) and to be brave and kind.

It will take a lot of work for people to accept you as 'someone who will go the distance to not only make them some plugins, but stick with it and help them with their troubles and have a sonic vision in mind that you pursue', but this is a journey that you can make if you like. It's just that right at the moment (and from now on) it takes like literally no effort to jump in and start making stuff, and that's not going anywhere so mind how you go and be good :)

Words to live by. Thank you for the warning; I hear you and plan to proceed accordingly. :)
