I use the free versions of DeepSeek and Claude, as well as offline versions of Google Gemma and Qwen 3.6 in LM Studio. So you can keep the costs pretty low if you already have the hardware for it.

Well, it can get a bit annoying when you are halfway through something and Claude suddenly decides that you cannot post anymore until 2 PM. Only for it to be postponed to 8 PM after three more questions. And the offline solutions are not as powerful as Claude and tend to start generating nonsense much more quickly. So you pay a different price for that. But it is still doable.

I usually ask Claude the big questions, and use my other solutions for the lower effort stuff.

I'm working only with gtp, believe it or not. Haven't felt the need to spend any more money though definetely will be here in a bit for claude and windsurf. I'm really hoping i can find a way to lower the cpu on a few things, hopefully if I can't crack that nut, I can hire someone just for that purpose, if I can afford it.

Yes, i'm feeling the need for that two, some things chat gtp is not doing, for that i have claude on the job or something else, but mostly, im getting amazingly far with gtp. The multisample import i'm reserving for claue and the preset browser.

I am relying on open source code, prompts usually refer to them. Math is math as I said, no one owns that, like no one owns the color blue. Oscillators are math. Filters are Math

You can get far specializing things in prompts so they can get pretty unique very fast, and that's no joke. It's a open game. I had it give me a half pole chorus comb filter and it sounds quite unique with feedback paths in its travel path. Try it, this is three days of work.
