Native Instruments to be acquired by inMusic

It's possible they might leave them alone instead of trying to roll them all up into one central hub. Unlike previous acquisitions which didn't have as much software, NI and PA bring large amounts of software to manage.
It would be a massive undertaking to shove all that into inMusic Software Center, especially considering all the third-party libraries for Kontakt etc.

InMusic still hasn't found a way to get Air users with iLok licences onto the new copy protection in its software centre (as I found to my cost when updating Loom 2 thinking it was the right version to install and had to do a full removal on discovering my mistake).sprnva wrote: Mon May 11, 2026 9:50 am It's possible they might leave them alone instead of trying to roll them all up into one central hub. Plus NI was never able to fully integrate Izotope and PA into Native Access in the first place.
I also think they're going to be run parallel systems for some time to come.

You mean change the "NTKDaemonService" start up type to disabled? Does that affect the way Native Access works?
Because I've had dealings with InMusic before. I have very little to no respect for them as a company.

Where do they say they’re doing that? I looked through their activation guides online and it just said the iLok stuff needed to be rolled back to the 2024 release to work and simply not to use the InMusic centre for it.zvenx wrote: Mon May 11, 2026 10:40 am Huh? They transfered all my ilok air to their new system.
Took me one email.

Someone here posted that they did it and it was seamless, so I emailed them and it was too.
They just asked me for proof of purchase which I had..

Step 1: I created an inmusic account: https://profile.inmusicbrands.com/custo ... unt/login/
Step 2: I opened a ticket basically saying I heard you can get them to transfer your ilok license to the new system.
They responded, to just send them proof of purchase.. and the rest was seemless I believe.

So they can't do it automatically based off the actual licences.
This is probably why they're not publicising it and pretending it's not currently possible as far as their online material goes.

Did you miss the point about automated?
The FAQ is clear as mud about this. You have to read between the lines to see what the fix is for someone who urgently needs the IM update. But this page is all about: the transition isn't ready yet for anyone who didn't originally buy an Air plugin recently: https://support.airmusictech.com/en/sup ... leshooting
With some digging, you might wind up here:

Note how it doesn't say "ackshully, we'll convert the licence". The next bit then goes on about uninstalling the plugin and reinstalling the older iLok update (though ironically it doesn't say that explicitly). To solve the issue, please contact our support team and supply the following information:
Your iLok Redemption Code
Your iLok User ID
Your inMusic Profile email address
Invoice (where applicable)

But why else would they need ur ilok, email and invoice if applicable?
Solve would be change/transfer..
I do agree it is not as clear as it should/could be, but I definitely don't think it gives the impression it can't be done.

I am not convinced that Native Access will be around in 2 years time.

Why? It's one conclusion based on what you knew from someone who heard from someone else. But when someone else is looking at that not very useful help page, it's very easy to conclude that they aren't begging to convert authorisations and would prefer older users to do a full reinstall. Which is basically what both pages say.zvenx wrote: Mon May 11, 2026 1:43 pm But why else would they need ur ilok, email and invoice if applicable?

One reason why they haven't done an automated conversion is probably because they haven't paid for access to the PACE database, otherwise they wouldn't need the redemption code, just the user ID. It could just be "we're not providing support to anyone who can't prove they bought it in the first place".
But for some reason any other interpretation upsets you.
