For rack users, the only relevant changes are the new RV-9 reverb, the additional factory sounds, improved tempo detection in the browser and the dark skin (can only be seen in minor places like the browser, device palette or the options window).

I agree that there have been more exciting upgrades for Rack users than Reason 14.

Does Reason have a dedicate Drum Editor? Or is just using the Piano Roll?

Piano roll. But if I remember correctly, at least the stock devices do report drum sounds to the piano roll, so u know the correct sample and don’t have to remember midi pitch values.

If you want drum editor experience, then there are a number of Players available in the shop.

Now the Rack is free floating and behaves more like the vst rack version in Reason 14 and you can set it to only show the Rack setup for each track instead of a bunch of Instruments from various tracks in one rack

I Created a Empty startup template with the Rack on the right side to see if it stayed there when i restarted Reason but it did move a tiny bit from where i put it but it won't be a showstopper for me since the rack behaves more like a vst rack now so i can live with it

I also like the Mixer channel view on the Left side so i don't have to open and close the Mixer all the time

Thats a awesome price

I payed €79 directly on Reason studios page since i couldn't find it on thomann in my region settings.

Why does Reason Companion keep nagging me to open it every time I load the Rack now?

You have to click "Open Companion" at least once for the notification to go away permanently.

Reason 14 coming - DAW improvements!
