Even if they would rather you do a full install, they still wouldn't need your ilok user name etc..
It doesn't upset me..I just find it strange that you are saying they are "pretending it's not currently possible as far as their online material goes." When all they are doing is not communicating in an explicit/clear way that it can be done..
As to why they are communicating this way, I have no idea.
But I know for a fact at least up to December last year it can be done.

Please don't say it's going to be replaced by the 'Software Center'...suddenly my 'wait and see' policy is having a little wobble, because I guess you know something we don't yet?

Could also be that some people (especially those who want their DAW to always be offline) prefer ilok protection and would prefer an uninstall and reinstall of the ilok version.zvenx wrote: Mon May 11, 2026 2:57 pm Even if they would rather you do a full install, they still wouldn't need your ilok user name etc..

Native Access will be fine if they stick to it and improve it, rather than making a yet another similar tool (the bane of past NI).

I don't think that Inmusic can do worse than what NI has done for years so i am looking forward to see what will happen in the near future.
Looking forward to Air Xpand! and Kontakt bundle sales for $10

For some clarity from my side. I rarely if ever go in and do updates with NA. It's a crap shoot. So yes, I disable the NTKDaemon service at startup. The exe is still on my machine, but the service is not running. If for any reason I need to open NA, the exe will start up. When I'm done with NA, I go back and disable the service

Okay thanks I'll try that next time Native Access installs the NTKDaemon.exe as I have already deleted it this time. I ran NA a couple of days ago just to do some updates and make sure I have everything installed that I want so I don't see having to run it again for quite some time. All the plugins work fine without the daemon.exe and with it gone or disabled we don't have to put up with it constantly sending and receiving data all day long even when we're not using NI plugins:Scoops wrote: Tue May 12, 2026 11:19 am For some clarity from my side. It's possible they might use the InMusic Software Center going forward just to keep everything under one app.ksandvik wrote: Mon May 11, 2026 7:03 pm Native Access will be fine if they stick to it and improve it, rather than making a yet another similar tool (the bane of past NI).

To be honest I'd welcome that change.

So you want a 90 day reactivation app instead of how it is today?Teksonik wrote: Tue May 12, 2026 1:54 pmIt's possible they might use the InMusic Software Center going forward just to keep everything under one app.ksandvik wrote: Mon May 11, 2026 7:03 pm Native Access will be fine if they stick to it and improve it, rather than making a yet another similar tool (the bane of past NI).

yes. please don't entangle another app for software downloads.. izotope + NI was more than enough of a pain.. rolling another in there would be a real turd in the punchbowl... and the punch isn't even that tasty as is.ksandvik wrote: Mon May 11, 2026 7:03 pm Native Access will be fine if they stick to it and improve it, rather than making a yet another similar tool (the bane of past NI).

None of my non-ilok Air plugins that were installed with the InMusic Software Center have asked for a "90 day reactivation" yet and I've had them installed longer than 90 days.D-Fusion wrote: Tue May 12, 2026 2:13 pmSo you want a 90 day reactivation app instead of how it is today?Teksonik wrote: Tue May 12, 2026 1:54 pmIt's possible they might use the InMusic Software Center going forward just to keep everything under one app.ksandvik wrote: Mon May 11, 2026 7:03 pm Native Access will be fine if they stick to it and improve it, rather than making a yet another similar tool (the bane of past NI).

But yeah, even if they did I'd be fine with that over Native Abscess.

FYI InMusic use a 90 day check in CP routine, iLok does not do this. You're literally rooting for a much more invasive system.Teksonik wrote: Tue May 12, 2026 1:54 pmIt's possible they might use the InMusic Software Center going forward just to keep everything under one app.ksandvik wrote: Mon May 11, 2026 7:03 pm Native Access will be fine if they stick to it and improve it, rather than making a yet another similar tool (the bane of past NI).

I think we need to think as end users about petitioning InMusic to change to NI's system. I haven't seen any random de-authorizations with their version, but again InMusics system is the worst of the three options, and I wouldn't recommend anyone replacing iLok with it, unless you like randomly de-authorized plugins every couple months especially if your DAW computer is offline.
I wish everyone would adopt U-He's new system, and/or stop worrying about the teenage pirates.
