Newfangled has been a bit negligent with updates though. They still haven't added Wet/Dry to Saturate, which was discussed when Articulate was released.

I feel like they've been great with maintaining their plugs. He doesn't seem big on adding new features but I tend to buy expecting the features on the tin. Calling them negligent seems a little harsh.

Maybe my wording is indeed not the best. I’ve seen it mentioned and that they would take it under consideration. But sadly it never happened.

I love and regularly use their plugins and if this one works out, i will be purchasing it too.

maybe im using it wrong or my mixes are so well (with Ozone 12 i get more noticable adjustments) but it doesnt do much somehow, i tested 10 songs and it only did minor changes which sounded not bad but i wouldnt have noticed them if i woulnt have A/B'ed them carefully.

It seems to do two things. First, it analyses the incoming audio and determines an overall eq to counter the midrange areas that are potentially troublesome.

At the same time it applies resonance suppression to the areas.

So it’s like a fixed eq coupled with an extra layer of dynamic eq.

I found that on mixes it seems to be more conservative whereas it can be much more aggressive with program material.

This appears very much like Eventide's answer top that resonance suppression and enhancement thing. As it seems similar to Soothe and Curves Equator. Similar but a little different again like with the human hearing based resonance detection and those controls that seem to make it a little more immediate.

My issue w/ these fix everything in your mix plugins is that, to my ears at least, they sap out alot of the energy of the track. Esp. Zynaptiq Unfilter and Waves Equator(AQ?) which I really put to the test on a lot of stuff and ended up always taking off.

The best results I've managed by far for such broad stroke work is from DSM V3.

That said I 'm moderately intrigued by this one based on the name brand. Gearspace seems to love it but I tend to take reviews from there with a grain of salt as it seems every new plugin is always the next best thing, but I digress.

I used this and it worked really good. It took a quick mix that was ok and made it sound pretty nice with no tweaking just analyze and and then hitting fix. Newfangled is too good, I’m kinda late to the party on them…

Not sure this is something I would find all that useful in isolation. But I think a really good use case here would be for mastering a full album. Pick one of the songs as an anchor track, and use Fixate to 'pull' the other tracks closer to help make a more cohesive sounding album.
