Regarding loading wav files, do you mean load the wav/mp3 or whatever and it sets the loop length off that, or add in a one hit?

I reimagined the buttons, it think it's more what you were expecting they would be, let me know. I added a CLEAR button. it's version 1.2.1b on itch.io
The knobs are a bit of an artsy area, will take a bit of time but should work out well.

That makes sense, and now that I see that this is meant to be used with a MIDI pedal, I understand why it's that way. I'm using it pedal-less and you can imagine how badly it's been going.UndoLooper wrote: Tue May 12, 2026 12:05 pm The clear button is the one I have to push back on a little. The hold-for-two-seconds thing is deliberate, and it's a live-performance call specifically.
Yes, load file and set the loop length off that. That would help a lot for anyone who doesn't have a pedal. I don't think you need to make a whole new suite for that, just add an option for importing audio files.UndoLooper wrote: Tue May 12, 2026 3:04 pm Regarding loading wav files, do you mean load the wav/mp3 or whatever and it sets the loop length off that, or add in a one hit?

Absolutely, I understand. It's made for midi yes, but should be easy as you stated for a mouse user. Yes I use a Nektar Pacer, very editable pedal, no click buttons - it has quiet ones that are especially great for loops that start with ambiance. I may have lost touch with the mouse audience in that regard. thanks for that.
And I do like the idea of loading whatever audio you got laying around and looping it. I'll get on that later tonight.

Would be nice if the Rec/Play button could be triggered by the space bar.

Triggered by the spacebar, doable, would have to be specific to the standalone version. perhaps have training for midi include keyboard binding since it would be specific to the standalone anyways

Version 1.2.1c is on itch.io, It opens any audio file up to 60 seconds. anything longer you get "Load Failed" The buttons are large and in charge, no floaty swifty buttons.
Right click to train midi, I'll be adding in keyboard mapping not just midi mapping for the standalone.
Knobs I'm still wrestling with, and the spacebar issue goes with the keyboard mapping.

Once the perfect iteration reveals itself in the form of an appropriate update, all the versions get it whether it's Mac or PC. It will be version 1.2.2 when they are all updated, most likely couple days.

What's in 1.2.2 vs 1.2.1 (windows only update for now)
Opening Wav/Mp3/etc files.
KNOBS! Looking great and functioning well.
Using Keyboard as a midi controller - working.
Clear button (with long-press stop button to clear still existing)
Did I mention it's Free? The pay channel for a license will be up soon. try it out.

Quick changelog of everything since the last installer:
Bevel-sized click areas for REC/PLAY, UNDO, REDO, STOP (entire stomp-button face is clickable, not just the text)
CLEAR button — one-click clear (alternative to holding STOP 2 s); MIDI-learnable; persisted in plugin state
Audio file import in LOAD LOOP — WAV / MP3 / AIFF / FLAC / OGG, auto-resampled, capped at 60 s
.undoloop file association in Windows Explorer + auto-load on double-click
Embedded pedal icon on the Standalone .exe and shortcuts
Echo Stop relocated to a single row under Save/Load on the left side
BringBack LED nudged 15 px left so it no longer crowds the text
Status display — true ink-bounds measurement; text now actually fills the LCD rectangle vertically, with horizontal scale capped at natural proportion so short words like REC/DUB don't get stretched and long words like ALL BACK compress to fit
Knob placement — symmetric around plugin centerline (158 / 400 / 642)
Keyboard learn (Standalone only) — right-click a button, press a key, that key now triggers the button. Persists in session state. DAWs are unaffected.
Try It
UndoLooper runs in any VST3-compatible DAW (Cubase, Ableton, FL Studio, Studio One, Bitwig, REAPER, Reason, Digital Performer) or standalone. The audio engine is built from scratch to run smoothly on older computers using ASIO — you don't need a $3,000 rig to perform live confidently.
Download it. Load it up. Try arranging a song live instead of just stacking layers.
That's the difference.
