Phase Plant 3 Teased

Kilohearts v3 brings a built-in preset marketplace, a free vocoder, a new paid delay/feedback multi-FX plugin called Ecopath, and a load of long overdue bug fixes. Public release expected post-summer 2026.

They maintain and update their entire catalogue as a whole, which makes sense since its an interconnected ecosystem. It's more Kilohearts V3 vs Phase Plant V3 and since they added a brand new host plugin, it is logical for a full step up from V2 to V3. I had a nice chat with them at Superbooth and there is still more coming to Phase Plant specifically in future updates, including but not limited to, some kind of multi-sampling functionality.

I’m sure there are quite a few QOL updates in v3, but dang I’m a little disappointed if Phase Plant v3 doesn’t have multisamples. Oh well, just have to wait and see.

Thought I saw somewhere, maybe on another forum, that multi-samples were either going to be in this release or the next. Not 100% sure though.

The lack of feedback loops in Phaseplant is quite shocking at this point

Especially as you can jump though a bunch of hoops and feed a single operators output through a Snapin effect (like distortion or a delay) and mix it back into itself and kind of accomplish it, so it's obvious it can handle internal feedback loops they just don't want to give us the option of one if the most fundamental elements of FM programming

IIRC, at one point they said that Phase Plant's architecture does not allow for a sequencer (arpeggiator, too?). I can't recall how/why or if there was some alternative implementation possibility. It does seem strange.

My #1 request would be for PP, Multi-Pass, and SnapHeap to host third party FX. That would give us more control of the FX order before output. At the same time, maintain the ability to use side chains, maybe even multiple side chains.

I don't have PhasePlant, I read positive reviews about it, so I'm interested in what PPlant-3 will add to what version 2 offers.

Hopefully there will be a special intro price when it is released.
