I will definitely upgrade my Atom SQ. The concept is solid with the pattern editor in Studio Pro. It is good to have visual feedback off the 8 encoders and a bigger screen. I hope there is a launch or Summer Sale.

Nektar Panorama CS12 now supports FSP. Look nifty.
But as far as FSP updates go...basically nothing since release of v8.

That is because we have yet to reach the first "feature" release - which will be v8.1soulata wrote: Mon May 04, 2026 11:54 amBut as far as FSP updates go...basically nothing since release of v8.
May was always an awesome "update" month for Studio One - hope that trend continues.

I recently tried out the stem separation thingie and it worked far worse than the one in Logic.
Mono drum overhead picked up too much of the brass and I wanted to get rid of it but the sound was a lot like early mp3s. Not really usable.

Well - the stem separator in Studio Pro is not made by them - rather adapted from the another one or two others out there that every other company uses. And there is no such thing as "perfect" separation on every piece of audio you jam into these things either.
Each "tool" does it slightly different and there are thousands of tracks out there where separation is simply never going to be clean.

Yeah well, that might be true but Logic did a far cleaner separation. Actually usable. In that particular case.Vocalpoint Studios wrote: Mon May 04, 2026 1:32 pmWell - the stem separator in Studio Pro is not made by them - rather adapted from the another one or two others out there that every other company uses. I prefer working in FSP but I might change to Logic. Or not. Actually looking at Nektar Panorama CS12 now that it works with both.

I put your core statement in bold face. If you prefer the overall workflow, then you can live with slightly inferior stem separation every now and then.soulata wrote: Mon May 04, 2026 1:39 pm I prefer working in FSP but I might change to Logic. Or not.

I could also export the offending tracks, clean them and export them from Logic back into FSP.

Are they still trying to push the quarterly feature updates?

No such thing now. That whole scene faded into obscurity as soon as V8 was released.SeeingInMidi wrote: Wed May 13, 2026 10:54 pm Are they still trying to push the quarterly feature updates?
My understanding is that they are back to releasing things when they are ready.
Just as it was pre-v7

Not quite. Releasing when they're ready but charging after a year of updates (there may be none).Vocalpoint Studios wrote: Wed May 13, 2026 11:13 pmNo such thing now. Worst of both worlds.

They are going back to their roots: the Cubase way!soulata wrote: Thu May 14, 2026 4:23 am Not quite. Releasing when they're ready but charging after a year of updates (there may be none).
Worst of both worlds.
A paid major upgrade once a year and only bug fixes in between.
