OT re. Pianoteq. It`s a funny one yes.
Soundwise is a Grand Piano from Pianoteq NOT a Synth.....but a "Piano".
But technically, if i play Pianoteq (Piano) do i play a Synth. period (YMMV)
( thought about that alots some years ago. Pianoteq was btw. the reason i started to have a music PC again)

Thanks for sorting the results out so far.
It's surprising to me that Halion 7, The Legend HZ, and TAL-MOD didn't get more votes, they are all great sounding synths. Halion 7 offers so many types of synthesis, it's a power house, but is very deep and although the interface is not very friendly, plus it is quite pricy as well. I would have expected The Legend HZ to be much more popular, TAL-MOD as well.
Let's see how the results change over time.

Very intresting, thank you for your summary this far!
