The "preserve" knob. What exactly is it doing? Is it preserving the quality of the mix, is it preserving the perception of the transients? And what effect does changing the percentage have on the actual mix?

« Preserve: Turning this up increases the release of the gain reduction algorithm (among other parameters). The result is more punch and less distortion. On the other hand, the value should be lower if you want to reduce the dynamic range. Higher values also increase the risk of 'pumping'. »

Thank you. I tried looking everywhere -- wasn't able to really get any clarification about that function. That's clear enough, I suppose. Considering I really only record acoustic music and am mainly using the plugin to try and bring up the integrated LUFs of my songs without "pumping" any of the frequencies, I should probably just leave it at its default (50%) setting or lower, eh?Monsieur_FyP wrote: Fri May 15, 2026 9:20 am This one![]()

Fair enough. No harm intended.
