Ah man, I take it as a compliment. Usually, problems happen down the line because of production decisions and spaghetti code caused by crunch time. That eventually comes back to the users as increased CPU and/or memory usage. Particularly, I’m allergic to high CPU usage.
That company has a very talented recording engineer as design lead, they seem to value
achieving a particular look and sound with their plugins, regardless of whether the
actual physics involved should produce it or not. Also heavy image based graphics.

I've no doubt you could help improve their efficiency by a lot.

You might not know it, but for me your plugins are game changing. Since switching to
this modest core i5 machine (while deciding what to do about a new machine), I have
really had to shy away from using things like Ableton Live and many nice but cpu
intensive plugins. By simply replacing even the native plugins with yours, they
reduce the cpu overhead so much as to make using almost all that stuff perfectly viable
again. They also sound great and quite unique in the process IMO :)

They are not going to fit perfectly in every situation, but I believe everyone will
encounter situations where they would make the difference for sure.

That's why I cannot recommend them enough. Great stuff Hakan! Thanks so much :tu:

*Note: For me everything is live pretty much.

There are a lot of good limiters around now. I often use a few that have come up here already, Limitless and Weiss DS1-mk3. I also still really like the McDSP ML-4000 and that's been around for ages too. I've been trying the AL-1 demo recently but I don't really feel like I need another limiter tbh, but I'm actually keen to see the coming Tone Projects release which I'm quite sure will also be excellent.
Thanks bmanic for the insightful and educational posts here as always.

I would be interest in knowing if any of you are are into the multiband limiting thing. You've probably already mentioned it, I honestly can't be bothered reading back through 19 pages to find out!?!?!!!

Whatever your definition of limiting is. :D
From old school perspective I learned long ago that limiting is compression with a "high" ratio.
OTT is kinda multiband limiting to me.
So yeah.

The email should have gone out to everybody subscribed to their newsletter (and probably all customers). Probably some glitch in their system.
No email and no demo on the site.

I own all of Rune´s plugins...

Mail received - bought after 20 minutes with the demo...

Yeah after a quick rinse I bought the Uni-L too.

At this level of quality all limiters have the same general fidelity, but the controls for Uni-L are the best I've seen and how it can get adjusted for odd details are perfect for how I work.

Well handy if you bought AL-1 via RTO maybe.

Yeah, I guess that would be true!! Although, as ambiguous as my equation was, I did actually mastering style limiting.
