Any BreakTweaker 2 news?

Once upon a time, there was a Synthtopia post about a follow-up to BreakTweaker being in the works. However, I can’t find any news about it since then. Does anyone know anything about it?

i think they decided to make stutter edit 2 instead. breaktweaker is not listed on izotope's site.. if it is it probably is in the 'legacy/discontinued' section

The page linked from Synthtopia 404s. It looks like the company that claimed to have taken it on has quietly dropped the project. They launched an AI voice transformer late last year (joining the three or four others that also rocked up in 2025) and have since gone a bit dark: they still have a "Cyber sale" banner on the site.Naenyn wrote: Mon May 18, 2026 6:30 am Once upon a time, there was a Synthtopia post about a follow-up to BreakTweaker being in the works. It has been discontinued as far as I remember. Sad, because it's my favorite iZotope plugin. Not very usable on hi-res monitors though.

You’re correct, I remember there being a list to sign up for BreakTweaker v1 license holders, which I did. I signed up to Soundlabs.ai hoping that the news wasn’t just hype. I ended up getting their MicDrop vocal plug-in, but I never heard anything about a follow-up to BreakTweaker after that. Complete silence.Naenyn wrote: Mon May 18, 2026 6:30 am Once upon a time, there was a Synthtopia post about a follow-up to BreakTweaker being in the works. Frankly, a short and simple message letting us know that plans had changed, would have been sufficient. But I don’t remember ever receiving another email that mentioned BreakTweaker at all. And that’s been very disappointing.

I'm glad that I keep a backup of older emails. I kept the one sent out for the discount on BreakTweaker 2. Here's a screen grab of the email, and it clearly states that BreakTweaker v1 license holders could update to version 2 for 50% off, if we signed up.
I signed up, purchased their MicDrop VST and never heard a peep about BreakTweaker 2 again. I can't help but to wonder if version 2 was ever in the works. Or was that intentionally used as a hook to pull in previous customers, that they knew would most likely invest money in MicDrop?
Obviously, that's more of a cynical take on the matter. But that's the downside of not communicating clearly with customers. I don't regret purchasing MicDrop, because I believe they're using AI in an ethical way. And other recent drum machine VST's have been filling the void left by BreakTweaker.

Thanks for the info, everyone.
I tried hopping on their discord a while back to see if there was more info to be had, but it looks to be only for verified purchasers of MicDrop. For support, I guess?
I hope a follow-up appears in some form that maintains the (seemingly) unique features of the original. I still really enjoy using it.

Isn't Michael Hetrick here on KVR, if so worth asking him?
I've always liked BT's approach to plugins (and his hairdo!) but I haven't dealt with my old iZotope plugins since getting a new computer.
