Dear B,
UNIVOX / Maxi-Korg 800 DV PLEASE!

Gawd knows the others won't do it.

Post

Behringer please update MS1 sequencer to advance 1 step per clock pulse / trig

The original SH101 does this and allows for more creative rhythm on sequences.

In fact the Moog Mother 32 even does this and since MS1 copies that sequencer im still baffled why i cannot get MS1 to do this

Post

Fwiw, I don't think they pay much attention to this website. Perhaps if you asked via their facebook page it might get a response

Glad you mention this, i was thinking about getting one and the step advance is one one of the draws on the original

Then I realised I have a similar setup using the Microbrute and Korg SQ1 but with more versatility

I just saw the first listing in NZ for the JN80 Juno at MusicWorks, which I assume means it is finally on the horizon for arriving here. $1599, which is around what I expected, though hoping it might be $1500. So that's around 33% more than UK price etc as usual.

I know - it's a Juno, so it's only slightly more complicated than a Stylophone, but I'm not even going to bother trying to resist getting one, it's futile... :borg:

Post

Has it been revealed if it has polyphonic unison modes with tuning spread?

Post

Apparently...

Poly: Standard polyphonic mode
Double (Duo / Dual): Layers two voices per key
Unison: Stacks all 8 voices on a single key
Quad: Redistributes the voices into 4 stacked voices per note, operating as a 2-note polyphonic mode.
Mono: Standard monophonic performance mode

I haven't seen anything re stereo/tuning spread, so possibly not there.

Must admit that despite the UBXa doesn't really set my pants on fire in any meaningful way, I absolutely love its various vintage/degradation/spread modes. It's a superb feature. Would be very nice indeed if they had it on the Juno, but Behringer seemed to be alluding to having it on all their flagship big synths which are on the same chassis/format - which I take to mean the 16-voice synths. So though I may be a tad disappointed to not get it on the Juno, I hope to have it on the Jupiter...one day. :hyper:

Post

Thanks! That's still a huge improvement over a real Juno, even if there's no tuning spread.

Ok, quite nice, but B, I can't see the BRE-201 and BRE-501 with real stereo tape on that list!?!?!

Sounds like the VCS3 and Kobol keyboard are really happening. This latest Behringer Brothers clip shows firstly a manual released for Kobol keyboard, can't see they have a manual done without it being an imminent product. Secondly there was a clip captured that was up briefly on the Behringer site showing VCX3 as a listed product - it was apparently taken down pretty quickly, so it's either an accidental (or more likely) deliberate leak. No idea when but it looks to me like confirmation :hyper: .

The Kobol...unsure about that one, nothing on the Kobol expander excited my ears, though I haven't actually had hands on one yet, so I suspect I won't jump in and buy one. Methinks the Kobol is one of those synths that was mythical more because it was rare than it was anything amazing. Would be nice to be wrong though. As for the VCX3, well...don't need to say anything about that. Instabuy. Even if it sounds shit, or I can't figure out how to use it because it's so esoteric...I'll have it as a beautiful ornament on the studio desk. :hyper: :hyper: :hyper:

Kobol Expander is my fav so far. My go to bass synth.

Post

The XILS Polykobol is my favourite synth of theirs, has a really lovely and unique character

Post

Maybe I should check it out. I know the morphing wave is a thing on the Kobol expander...can you put modulation on the actual wave, like the Neutron/Proton? I mean, say LFO to swing between pulse/saw or whatever?

Yes
