Aava – creative convolution plugin by Viiri Audio

Hey all, used to be quite active here until I jumped all in to the hardware world. I'm back though with my first plugin that I've been developing for the past five years.
Aava is a creative convolution plugin that does something a bit groundbreaking. All IR parameters can be modulated or automated in real-time without glitches or fade outs, even at audio rates.
Up to four IRs can be layered and blended, each with its own set of parameters. There are two IR modes: pitched that allows key tracking and rhythmic that allows syncing speed to host tempo.
There’s also the Explore Map, a 2D surface where you can interpolate between nodes representing parameter states. And you can also record IRs into the plugin even at real-time while using the record buffer for convolution.
It’s out now in CLAP and VST3 formats for Linux, Mac and Windows hosts for an intro price of 79€ / $79 / £69 until June 15th. Regular price is 99€ / $99 / £89. There's a fully functional 30-day trial (no e-mail required) and 30-day money-back guarantee.
You can download the demo and find out more at https://viiri-audio.com/
Happy to answer any questions in comments, hope you enjoy it! All suggestions and critique (and praise!) are welcome.

Thanks! A mix lock option is already on my list for a future update.

Why would I need another convolution reverb, an IR is an IR is an IR .....
<semi-reluctantly clicks link to website and plays the demo samples & videos>
OK then, looks like I'm buying another convolution reverb !

Innovative features with a great UI. Nice work!
If less is more, imagine how much more MORE will be.

Wow, you did a really great job with your website and plugin. It certainly looks like it has some interesting features, and the UI is easy to look at. How many computers can we authorize the software on?

Each license can be activated on five computers but I'll just throw in extra activations if you ask nicely unless there are obvious signs of abuse. And you can deactivate online-activated licenses yourself if you switch computers or something.

It has 64 samples of latency which is also the minimum refresh rate for the IR i.e. parameter changes are applied every 64 samples at the fastest refresh rate. This is something I had to do so it doesn't absolutely murder the CPU.Funky40 wrote: Mon May 18, 2026 7:53 pm +1 on the expressed sentiments !
i guess it has no latency, or has it ?

sounds good ! Thanks !
( no open funds right now. But i`ll buy it later this year)
Whatever i do, it`s live play. This looks like very useful.
I would guess you`ve hit there into an empty or at least weak spot on the market
Many other totally cleva chaps would have just "developed" -by giving away blood and tears- another Pultec clone, or what not. Coz, we just can`t have enough Pultecs, Neve pres, LAs, and 76s......
"Plugin has turned Drug now"....and the business knows it.
