You misunderstand, the issue is not "an Apple specific issue" as I tried to explain, it's how Arturia *have made* the standalone installers. I get though that some people just can't understand that something occasionally just might not be Apple's fault...

The guy wanted installer options to only install the format he wanted - regardless of what his or anyone's else's preference are - not an unreasonable request, as I mentioned, because virtually everybody else offers those options in the Apple installers they make.
IvyBirds wrote: Mon May 18, 2026 7:39 pmand it would seem you can just install AU if you want
Yes, in *ASC*, but *not* in the standalone installers (the entire point of my posts).
Actually it is in ASC that I am not offered the choice of "type" only location. Although again, it could be my error in not going "deep" enough into the Arturia files hierarchy??

Thanks for the rest though, you nailed it!
i even posted a screenshot earlier.

Almost every time I hear about installation issues, it is mainly because or external drives. I feel people should state this first when asking.

All sorted. Thanks to everyone much appreciated. Especially when it was this dumb newbies (MacOS) fault in the first place!!

Works extremely well for me, too. There are 45 plugins in V-Collection and another 39 in the FX collection. I couldn't imagine manually downloading and running 84 separate installers, clicking Next multiple times and making several choices for each one every time there's an update.

It also lets you choose what plugin format to install (AAX, VST2, VST3 etc.) and where to install the plugins, the resource data, where to store the downloads temporarily and whether to delete them automatically after install or keep them. It was super easy for me to store the large resource files on a separate larger SATA SSD while keeping the plugins themselves on my NVMe main drive.
Take a single oscillator, producing a drone. Send it to the wave shaper, altering the tone.
This can be a triangle, Sawtooth or a square. Modulate the pulse width, nobody will care
