Having an envelope follower is a lot easier then increasing your automation at note start - the automation shapes are great and are basically a chill lfo modulator but there’s a lot crazier of lfos out there than basic shapes

is there a reason why were speculating that there's an updated today?

Historical statistics (month, day of the week) ...SeeingInMidi wrote: Tue May 19, 2026 5:26 pm is there a reason why were speculating that there's an updated today?
EDIT: And to heat up the speculation even more: since next Monday is public holiday in Germany (presuming that Hamburg team is settling the release), I wouldn't bet on next Tuesday. At least in our company we have cancelled release next week, because we don't have the Monday for final preparation. Shifted to one week later...

I spoke to a few of my Fender contacts - they cannot share anything due to NDA - but I did manage to get a single comment: "soon".
It's been over 2 months since v8.03 - so whether "soon" is tomorrow or next Tuesday or next month - it's better than nothing.

Upgrade to v8 at US$ 90 right now with code SUMMER2026 through AudioDeluxe...
Bought my update a good while ago, because of a nice price at the time, not even sure it was as good a price as that.
Still delaying gratification for now, though, waiting for a good reason to register, upgrade and start the clock. And it's proven not too hard to do so far with 7.2.3.

It's been 4 months since launch, so it's due for it's first .1 update. Had to check what day they usually come, and those seem to be on Tuesdays. Thought it was Wednesdays at first, but that's Cubase. So it's more of an educated guess with a bit of wishful thinking.SeeingInMidi wrote: Tue May 19, 2026 5:26 pm is there a reason why were speculating that there's an updated today?

ah man...well, there's always other days in the week. Let the wishful thinking continue!Crossinger wrote: Tue May 19, 2026 5:36 pmHistorical statistics (month, day of the week) ...SeeingInMidi wrote: Tue May 19, 2026 5:26 pm is there a reason why were speculating that there's an updated today?

When an early access reviewer accidentally leaks their review video and then immediately retracts it, then we'll know that a new release is imminent.

No better or worse than any other option I have tried, which is to say it's not very good most of the time. But it's not really a new feature, you could do it with Melodyne before.electro wrote: Mon May 18, 2026 12:56 amWhat is the state of the current build and also the Audio to MIDI?
From a "time perspective", we're already out of the woods because Gibson killed off OpCode development within a year of acquiring the company. Fender and PreSonus merged in 2021 and we've had plenty of proper updates since then. Gibson and Fender are very different companies, with very different owners, it makes no sense to assume that what one did 28 years ago, the other is likely to do tomorrow.ksandvik wrote: Mon May 18, 2026 6:19 pmThe Gibson fiasco was to purchase OpCode which was IMHO the best MIDI DAW at that time and running it to the ground by not funding it. We need to have a time perspective if this happens with Fender / Studio One.
Yeah, absolutely. It doesn't affect me much, as we don't do a lot of modulation, but I can see how it would get extremely tiresome for anyone who does a lot of it. Imagine what they might have been able to achieve if all the dev time that went into the clip launcher had been focused on automation/modulators instead?chk071 wrote: Tue May 19, 2026 2:24 pmAlso, if I'm honest, most automation implementations in DAW were quite cumbersome to me.

Even if you guys don't need it or even want it but love the daw, upgrade anyway if you have the cash to support the overall ecosystem.

That's a strange approach. "Voting with our wallets" is the only power we have as customers when we disagree with the direction a product is taking.Touch The Universe wrote: Wed May 20, 2026 12:52 am Even if you guys don't need it or even want it but love the daw, upgrade anyway if you have the cash to support the overall ecosystem.

Yeah, if Fender was going to kill off Studio One, they wouldn't have rebranded it under the Fender banner. Fender Studio Pro going bust would be a major failure and humiliation for the Fender brand. They are all in.BONES wrote: Wed May 20, 2026 12:39 amFrom a "time perspective", we're already out of the woods because Gibson killed off OpCode development within a year of acquiring the company. Given Fender’s current financial position (junk credit rating, high leverage and negative cashflow), a rebrand doesn’t prove they’re ‘all‑in’. Companies rebrand products for many reasons, including repositioning or preparing for structural changes. It’s not evidence of long‑term commitment. If the current legal stuff has any negative effects, then usually S1 would be one of the first projects to be in trouble. I'd rather have my software with a company that is financial healthy and not at risk.jamcat wrote: Wed May 20, 2026 7:29 amYeah, if Fender was going to kill off Studio One, they wouldn't have rebranded it under the Fender banner. Did you manage to get a glance before it was pulled? Or did you mean this as a hypothetical?tonedef71 wrote: Tue May 19, 2026 8:46 pm When an early access reviewer accidentally leaks their review video and then immediately retracts it, then we'll know that a new release is imminent.

For many smaller companies, the global economic development is currently a risk. If you want to sit on the safer side, then you have to choose one of the major players: Yamaha (Cubase) or Apple (Logic).noremorze wrote: Wed May 20, 2026 7:51 am I'd rather have my software with a company that is financial healthy and not at risk.
