The update frequency was always slow and it will not suddenly change. ...
And I refer again to the reality that this is just a lie to cover the fact that Rapid is nearly dead developement wise...
Have a look at the changelog yourself https://parawave-audio.com/rapid_version_history...

13 partly big updates (the most feature rich ones in this synths whole history) for Rapid from october 2016 til december 2020 containing 2 big ones 2020 alone (one in july the other in december)...

13 updates in 4 years!

From 2021 til today: 5 updates ...

Again... it´s just a lie that Rapid´s development was always slow... it was "rapid" in the first 4 years... but is nearly dead for the last 5 years...

And this is (besides other facts) why I simply cannot trust this guys words... for me he´s always just trying to calm down the waves by just telling the people what they want to hear in this moment...
... it´s just words... hot air...
Why does he only show up for a few milliseconds when his world is cooking??
Unless a lot of people complain loudly, you don't hear a peep from him for years!

And therefore I don´t trust him that it would be an offense to himself if Rapid wouldn´t be accessable anymore once the doors are closing ... which is imho just a question of time...

A dead product you cannot sell anymore... the products page and licensing hosting costs money... Once the numbers go into the red, Parawave will dissappear faster than you can say "Rapid" ... and I highly doubt there will be ever a DRM free version...
who knows what happens but yeah this is just so untrustworthy and especially if you think how the vst is marketed and maybe nearly 0 marketing nowadays? wonder how many sales are happening at all. where Serum 2 etc. are taking over the buyers who cares for Rapid nowadays? maybe hey made enought money and keep this thing running and thats it, a better and direct communication would be helpful, I can activate Sylenth1 offline, Rapid not, if Rapid would be now dead I wouldnt care much if I would have the possibility to activated it offline. sadly this is not given, so i dont use this piece of vst not anymore as the dev is just unreliable for my taste.

Mirko seems off fb now for whatever reason, but this is the most telling thing for me still.
And until I see a next update, this is what I find the most concerning and believe there may never be another update.

Ok everybody, go ahead and delete Rapid from your systems and move on. It's all a big lie and Rapid is dead. No sense beating a dead horse right?

I mean why wait? Get it over with now. Just uninstall. Then you won't have to stress over the drama and you'll be free from Rapid. :tu:

I don´t use it since quite some time already anymore... because of these reasons... I am just glad I bought it at half price and never invested in any expansions, so not too much money lost! :tu:

Nonetheless... a lie is a lie and must be pointed out, doesn´t it?

It would be a real shame to see such a capable synth slowly die a slow death.

I hope they can reach some kind of agreement and just keep it working at the very least.

I'd be quite happy to keep using it in it's current form.

Well you call it a lie and I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt since his post seemed sincere. Maybe that says more about us than it does him.

Keep in mind that post was less than six months ago.

At any rate Rapid still works today and we've been assured it will not stop working so until and if that ever happens it can't be called a total lie.

Will we ever get another update? Who knows but Rapid is a great synth now so we can either enjoy it for what it is or delete it and move on.

I'm more likely to reach for Nexus 5 or VPS Avenger these days but if I find a use for Rapid in a track I will use it as well.

Or perhaps sell it to another company that might be interested in further developing it? That could be a nice outcome for all perhaps. Original developer gets compensation, doesn't have to worry about continuing to develop it, and customers (hopefully) get further updates.

Not as easy to do that as it sounds, in earnest many synths eventually converge to update schedules as infrequent as Rapid. Hopefully it’ll have a comeback at some point…
