Unfortunately they tied the mpe expressions to the macros, so the ranges will depend on the macro ranges. Have you tried messing with the macro settings?papatomany wrote: Tue May 19, 2026 3:16 pm I was really excited about the MPE addition; but, playing with the demo, I can only get Slide or Press (mpe aftertouch) to have minimal effect.

Still far too much missing from the previous version, that happened to be frequently used in my workflow. And the pace of updates is really too slow, as the release was not really ready for showtime.
As "innovations" go, the preset cloud is of little value to me until it includes user presets and other collections. I do not regret buying it, for future-proofing, but I think I could have stayed with the previous version...

I met Brian at Superbooth. Such a cool guy.
Dont worry, he's working on updates. Stuff is going to continue to happen.

That's good to know. It's difficult to have much trust in NI right now. Brian Clevinger is easier to believe.
I have all his synths and FX and find them all pretty cool. But, in a very large collection of VSTi, Absynth is still the one I use the most somehow... Some kind of addiction.

Your sentiments are easy to understand, because Absynth really is a unique instrument. I can remember the first version that was released, and the way that I was in awe of the sounds that it could make.Velden wrote: Tue May 19, 2026 5:03 pm But, in a very large collection of VSTi, Absynth is still the one I use the most somehow... The versatility was absolutely stunning to me, and it rewarded deep experimentation. Back when updates by NI were more common, I discovered that it could also be used as an effects plug-in.
After that, it quickly became one of my go-to VST effects for highly-detailed soundscapes, resonant and metallic pads, and alien vocals. I’m thankful to Brian and NI for releasing v6. And I hope that it gets the attention that it deserves, in terms of updates and bug fixes.

It may just not like Sonar.

You just made me realize I haven't tried using this one with the Osmose. Now I know how I will spend the weekend!

I've tested with Bitwig and it works but isn't the best implementation. As far I can see there is no way to modulate in relative mode, which is normal for most mpe controllers like linnstrument, seaboard and Push, where the initial press is cc74 (slide) value of 64 and you get bipolar modulation (or positive in both directions, however you set it). But with Absynth it basically triggers the slide modulation at half the macro range immediately because there doesn't' seem to be bi-polar setting.papatomany wrote: Fri May 22, 2026 6:44 amYes.Echoes in the Attic wrote: Tue May 19, 2026 4:15 pmUnfortunately they tied the mpe expressions to the macros, so the ranges will depend on the macro ranges. With Osmose however since you need to do the timbre/slide modulation from 0-127 unipolar, since it basically takes the place of aftertouch, it should work fine.
I hope I'm wrong about the bi-polar macros/modulation. I could have sworn there was a way. I only just picked up the full copy used (now that I know I don't want to upgrade to k26), so not super familiar yet.
Edit: searched the thread and realize we talked about it a while back, and doesn't look like anything changed. Yeah I don't understand unipolar macros on a bi-polar control. And MPE needs the relative input setting.

Yeah, that's it. Thanks for the response.
And, you're right, the issue was previously discussed. I didn't want to read through 80+ pages, but I should have thought to search the thread for MPE.
