echoing the mix knob confusion as well. would love it to behave like a normal dry/wet mix, feels like a bug to me.
AND I AM SO STOKED YOU GAVE US THIS, i have loved these delays/reverbs in your other products for a long time.

Hmmm ok. I didn't try the AU, only VST and VST3. What I did is turn down the volumes on both FX and put the mix to full. Expected silence but heard dry sound. A null test fails to totally cancel, so the dry through probably has a small delay on it or something.

uhm...same here with the AU:Andreya_Autumn wrote: Mon May 25, 2026 9:15 pm What I did is turn down the volumes on both FX and put the mix to full. Expected silence but heard dry sound.
if none of the M/S switches are activated the dry gets passed through
and is hearable regardless the FX's input or output levels
at least one "S" must be switched on (activated) - then the dry is muted
kind of irritading, confusing and counterintuitiv

As far as I can tell, it's working as intended.
"Included is the Maximize and EQ section from the Master portion of Battalion, which have quickly become a signature sound of the device, and something fans have requested to use elsewhere." Hence the "master" section is distinct from the dry signal and the delay/reverb, and the dry signal is sent through it in parallel. It's not the dry signal you're hearing at 100% wet, but it'll be almost indistinguishable if you don't move any settings.
If you only want to use the delay and reverb as send effects you'll have to solo them.

Ha! I Should have R'd the F M I guess.
So if you solo *both* the delay and the reverb, you get a usable send effect. That's... well, better than I thought, but not exactly intuitive. Why not have the Mix control work like normal and apply the Maximize effect after the mix? That'd make way more sense to me anyway.

where is the manual ?
i've looked all over the places (user dir, pluginalliance dir, UA dir, online...), but haven't found it...
at least with the AU just one (either) is sufficiantAndreya_Autumn wrote: Tue May 26, 2026 10:46 am So if you solo *both* the delay and the reverb, you get a usable send effect.
(as i've already written...)
anyway,
imho noAs far as I can tell, it's working as intended
SILO works as intended and used and understandable
Battle's might be intended (really ???) but is imho connfusing
but well...

The text I quoted was from the web page. I don't think there's any manual yet, but most of the plugin is explained in the Battalion manual.muki wrote: Tue May 26, 2026 1:33 pm]

BattleFX is supposed to replicate the final stage of Battalion, so it's more of a bus processor to be used in series, with a delay and reverb send built into it. I am one of those Battalion users who wanted its processing section as an external effect, which is probably why it makes more sense to me. Perhaps it would be nice to have a bypass "master" section for those who want to use the delay and reverb as a send, but until then, soloing them (either or both) is equivalent.

Actually, it kind of reminds me of the Waves Space Rider. albeit, without the Chorus. Though, BattleFX is less of a vanilla Delay/Reverb plugin and more of a creative, experimental type of effect with more character.joradn wrote: Tue May 26, 2026 3:52 pmThe text I quoted was from the web page. Either way I find these useful just to tap on to the end of instruments without any built in effects. At least, initially while quickly tracking down ideas. Sometimes, during the production/mix phase it's worthwhile experimenting with replacing these effects if it gives you a sound closer to what you are after.

Yeah. Josh replied via e-mail confirming it is happening on purpose. Though there is a DSP issue with it in that the dry sound coming through the plugin isn't completely in-phase with the dry sound otherwise. If you use the Delta function in reaper (with mix 100% and echo/verb muted) it's pretty obvious. They're gonna work on fixing that. I also suggested to them that this feature may confuse more folks, and communicating in the UI that dry sound hits the maximize would be helpful. Let's see.
Awesome effect either way.
