Roland cloud vst is the worst, and if you monitor your network traffic it seems very chatty for something offline. BUT the system 8 vst is an exact replica of the real thing with no midi cables to fiddle with

Genuinely interested in why people hate the NI launcher so much? I've purchased a fair amount of stuff from them and don't hate it as much as I thought from what people have said about it. The only thing I could see is the really stupid roundabout way NI makes you uninstall things.

One thing that annoys me is that some of my older Kontakt libraries no longer work with the new NI Access system.

Some developers haven’t bothered updating parts of their product line, so libraries that used to be go-to options are now no longer usable.
Anyone who can make you believe absurdities can make you commit atrocities.

The Cherry Audio one is completely useless - always gets stuck downloading anything

⬆️ it doesn’t though does it?

Best ones for me are waves, PA and SSL
I wonder what happens if I press this button...

I can't believe I or someone haven't mentioned Heavyocity. You have to install their installer app, then use it to download...then for a Kontakt VI, also add it via Native Access (NI) and copy/paste the SN, THEN "add product." I just did all that...and it still treats it like a non-playable demo. I don't know which company I hate more.

Softube Central on mac is by far the worst experience for me, it crashes every time, until reinstalling and then it works once, and then crashes again… it’s proper wank!

Linux rocks because you only have to deal with Tracktion and now Kazrog.

Am I missing any others?
REAPER + Davinci Resolve Pro on Manjaro KDE. Neve 88m. Focusrite 18i20 2nd gen. Neumann NDH30 headphones. Mics: Telefunken TF39, AT4050, Miktek C7e, EV RE-15. VSTs: u-he Hive 2, F'em, Renoise Redux, Apisonic Speedrum 2.

This isn't an issue with Native Access at all. This is an issue with users not understanding what Native Access actually serves up.

Native Access is not designed to serve up ANY updates for any old versions of their major software. It is 100% focused on the very latest - all day - every day.

So - if you are still rocking an older version of Kontakt - best to just save your sanity and do not bother going Native Access at all - because any Kontakt updates you do see in there - are not for you.

The latest updates within NA - specifically for Kontakt - are always only for those who have moved to the latest version of Kontakt - which is v8.10.2 as of this writing.

The new Softube Central is better than the old one (on W11).

lol. What a crock. It's totally an NI issue and IMO one of numerous reasons why they were in financial trouble. They suck.

Yeah. That tracks. Native Access is the reason.

Thanks for setting us straight.
