Hi

I've used Cubase for quite a few years sparingly but have now gone onto mac and always wanted to try Logic. I pulled the trigger and bought myself a copy.

It seems a bit more user friendly to me from initial experience as I'm not an advanced daw user.

Could anyone reccommend any online courses or youtube etc instructional accounts that will help me cover the basics+ of Logic to get me off the starting block please?

I would suggest buying David Nahmani’s book and working through it.

MacProVideo is pretty much dead these days in terms of new releases, but their Logic Pro videos are still relevant for learning the basics.

Groove3 is another option.

Tutorials from both are very well organized, clearly explained, straight to the point, and miles better than wading through the loads of useless crap you’ll find on YouTube - no ads, no two-minute intros, no stupid clickbait titles or images, no lame influencer begging you to subscribe to his channel or join his patreon, etc. - just the information you want organized neatly into chapters.

The stuff at Why Logic Pro Rules has been informative for me. Chris has a lot of lessons (all free) organized in YouTube playlists, which are convenient to step through.

He has two that I particularly learned a lot from -

Newbie to Ninja

and 30 days of Why Logic Pro Rules

Best of luck.

For me, this one was from the best. He also has tutorials on MacProVideo. His YouTube channel is old and has tons of info for Logic.

There is no big difference between Logic 10, 11 and 12. So, much of the shortcuts and workflow is still the same. Anyway, I'm still using version 11 as it is enough for me.
Using: Cubase Pro 15, Reason 13, Tascam US-4x4HR, MODX6, DM12D, LaunchKey 49, Yamaha guitar(Pacifica 612v) and bass (BB234) and some virtual instruments and synths.

I've uninstalled Logic and all AU's on my MacBook to save space. Just keeping it on the Mac for a couple of tracks sake.
I just don't like working with it for some reason

Thanks for all the suggestions, I’ll dig in and see where I get!

That's always my recommendation as well!

You can also try the manual! Why is it the last choice always?! :hihi:

Seriously. The manual is great. There are 3 manuals to delve into. You can transfer your workflow from Cubase by looking at the differences in shortcuts and GUI.

Huh, usually see another way around, people going to Cubase because it is more user friendly (IMHO it is), but one uses the host they're most content with. Anyways...

There's a decent course on Udemy, forgot the name of the instructor. It's massive (I'm on 7/48). 10$ when on sale.
