Arturia Memory V - Memorymoog Emulation out now

How does this stuff work for V collection owners? Is the idea that this will eventually get bundled into V collection 12 for eg? Or does it get added to 11?

Typically in the past what Arturia has done when they release Synths like this between releases of the entire V collection is sell it to owners of the current V collection at a discount for like $50 and then when the new version comes out they will give you a $50 discount off the regular upgrade price at launch

So as an owner of V collection 11 I can get this for $50. If I buy it when they come out with the V collection 12 at some point probably this year it will cost $50 less, or just wait and get it with the upgrade to 12 when it's released, or wait even longer when they eventually put the entirety of version 12 on sale for $99

I do hope version 12 of the V collection has way more than just this and Augmented Persia however

I have V Collection 8 and a few others such as Pigments, and my price is $69.

Also, they have an offer when I login to get V Collection 11 Pro and Memory V for $149.

They added a 12dB option and a bass compensation to the filter; otherwise, it's a classic ladder filter

Again, the Memorymoog does not have the same filter as the Mini, the amp section alone distorts much harder, in a good way than the Mini Filter, MM uses a CEM chip for it, and it's different for sure.

I'm sure it sounds good, but my concern is does it sound anything at all like a Memorymoog? I've owned one since the 80's so unlike most of you it matters to me how accurate it is VS how good it sounds.

I thought they both had the 24/db Ladder filter, except there are 6 of them in the Memorymoog. (?)
Also I thought the Mini used discrete components in the filter, and the same was true for the Memorymoog (no CEM).

Seeing as you have one, you'll be in a good position to actually compare it to the hardware and come to an objective judgement on that, unlike most of us.

I'd be surprised if Arturia didn't model the filter from the hardware correctly, and instead just put in a standard filter from their Minimoog, if it really is different. So I'd expect them to have done a decent job unless reports surface that demonstrate otherwise...

The Cherry Audio version makes me not like how the Memorymoog sounds so I am not enthused about this one, but I wonder if that's just Cherry Audio...

But "learning 45 synths" makes it sound far more complex than it is. For example a lot of the included instruments are basic keyboards. It's not like there's a lot of programming skill needed to use Piano V. Then a lot of the synthesizers are analog recreations, so once you learned one you have a huge head start on most of the others.

How does the versioning work, is it a new version every year? Do they just keep adding a few synths with every new version?
