You should have posted this in the energyXT sub-forum.

Ok, use the ASIO4all-Driver instead of the delivered Echo WDM drivers. They are by far more stable and will run with energyXT.

Nope, it's an issue with the echo drivers. Try using the ASIO4all drivers first. If you still got crackles, raise the latency.

This means nothing to me. Cept that mabey people need to learn how to optimize their systems better.

I have 2 systems. 1 laptop with an indigo i/o and a desktop with not 1 but 2 (TWO!!!) echo mia's in it synced via spdif.

It's a fact.
At least on my system. I use Tracktion and the ASIO4all drivers because the Echo drivers are very inflexible, you can't restart the device, when you change the configuration the CPU load gets to 100% and my PC hangs.
Very insatisfactory, if you ask me.

Also, the overall CPU load was higher with the Echo drivers.

Don't ask me how they managed to make their Indigo-only drivers worse than generic, non-specialized drivers

seriously to me it sounds like something else is causing your problems. you can't just go shouting out that echo's drivers are "worse than generic" cuz YOUR SYSTEM is having problems. I have never had these problems and I LOVE THE ECHO DRIVERS AND ECHO CONSOLE!!!

However, with EnerergyXT, there is a conflict with the app and the Echo drivers. It has been well documented in the EnergyXT forum, as pointed out by jens.

Just out of interest, why are you so passionate about a piece of code and a few plastic micro chips

Because ECHO's shit rules and now they need someone to get their back. I never have problems with it, the console app is really simple, and the virtual outs are KEY.

My point is this:
ECHO is quality shiat. I find it highly unlikely that because a $30 host is having problems with "ECHO WDM drivers" that its "ALL ECHO's FAULT!!!" and "ECHO IS WORSE THAN GENERIC!!!!" Obviously this is energyXT's lone issue and if you don't like it then use a different host untill they fix it.

Im not denying the problem. Im denying that it's ECHO's problem.

I bought a non-echo soundcard cause of that issue (a - yikes!! - creative notebook PCMCIA

)

Works cool with EnergyXT, but is probably no echo indigo.

Using the ASIO4ALL driver apparently sorts the problem, simple as that

perhaps i am missing something? i have never heard of WDM drivers being useful for anything (musically anyway). The fact the WDM are not working within a pro system is suprisingly.. unsurprising. On Windows systems ASIO is the rockbed, a generic ASIO driver is going to perform better then any WDM driver..

At least this is what i have come to understand?
