Yes, the 8-voice limit is intentional -- this is accurate to how a JUNO-6 behaves, and actually gives you two extra voices over a real JUNO. Voices get stolen by new notes before the attack has even had a chance to fully play out, just like the real hardware. Overlapping long sustained chords isn't something a JUNO can do, so this is not a bug. That said, we will consider making the limit user-configurable in the final release for users who have the CPU power to spare, once we get there.

v1.0.4 has a 6-voice limit on my computer. Also, I think the voice stealing is not working correctly. A Juno-60 does First-In, First-Out (FIFO). With EightSix, it's simply stopping me from being able to play any notes above the voice limit.

I don't know Gridshift. Does the same behavior show in Logic / Cubase / Ableton? That would help me tell whether the issue is plugin-side or specific to Gridshift. I'm bumping the voice count to 16 at the next revision, but then people might complain about CPU again.

Yes, it's happening in Studio One and Luna. It's also happening with to some degree with Unstable, although less abruptly. Maybe it's just voice stealing in both cases, since there are 4 notes happening at the same time on the downbeat. On my system, both synths are limited to 6 voices in all DAW's and neither one uses FIFO voice stealing.

Trying 1.05. Chorus setting still not remembered. The default wet really needs to be at 50% not 60%.

We found that 60% matches our hardware unit perfectly, hence chose that value as defalt. If you JUNO-6 measures differently feel free to send us the exact measurements for conparison. Who serviced the unit? Which BBD chips are used?

Well I can't argue with the hardware you own. But if the chorus remembered when its settings are changed it would become a non-issue anyway.

Is this still about version 1.0.4 or the new one that came out yesterday? I have significantly upped the voice count, which should resolve your problem.

The Juno-6 chorus has fixed chorus settings for Mode I and Mode II — that's how the original hardware works, and EightySix replicates that accurately. The knobs let you tweak beyond the original on a per-preset basis, and those changes are saved with the preset. But switching back to Mode I or II will always give you the original hardware values. That's by design, not a bug.

Lastly, I think it's bad form to suggest your product is better than that of a specific developer, especially when that developer has a long established reputation for quality, something which you've yet to attain.
What he said. I'm surprised you haven't removed that crap from the subject title yet.

Reopening the chorus DSP today while I've got a hardware unit on the bench for servicing — good time to take some more measurements. EightySix's chorus sounds great so far, but it's still not as close to the hardware as I want it to be.
