refined chorus algorithm, to me now sounds indistinguishable of the real juno chorus I

Sounds great, particularly Chorus II.

I would suggest changing the title of this post to not reference another developer’s product in this way.

If remove the reference, it will be like, suddenly stopped being Better than TAL-U-NO-LX?
I'll tell you what: when you start being Better than TAL-U-NO-LX? - there is no way back. Once better, always better
Weapons of choice (subject to change):
Godin Redline, Kuassa, Fuse Audio, Audiority, Roland A-500pro, Dune, Dagger, TAL, Reaper for Rock & Synthwave pleasures; Viper and FL Studio for guilty EDM pleasures

I prefer the TAL

Chorus sounds better now :tu:

The plugin loads with no preset selected. It's a bit unintuitive that the Factory Presets folder should be placed in the User Presets folder to show up. Maybe rename User Presets to just Presets.

this has been fixed and rolled out with 1.0.6
no need to place anything anywhere anymore, the plugin installs the presets automatically on first run.

It is funny to me that all the tech stuff is being answered, but the call to change the (very provocative and unnecessary) thread title is just being ignored 😂😂

thread title has been changed :D

Pretty sure TAL Audio is doing just fine 😄 It's like calling out Nike while you're lacing up your first pair of sneakers — the target doesn't even know you exist, and if they did, they'd just chuckle. Patrick's probably deep in code right now, headphones on, not losing a wink of sleep. All good vibes here — cool project by the way!

Been following this and I’ve waited to try this until it was a little more polished. So while I do think this sounds great, I’ve got so many custom presets on TAL’s - and many of which are my go-tos - that I would hesitate to use this one because I pretty much would have to start over. And the sound difference isn’t that different enough to be worth the trouble. Now if you made a basic preset converter though, I might bite.

Post

I will continue using Tal Uno-LX, Roland Juno 60 vst, and Arturia Jun 6-V and i don't need another one of the same Synth and that is also the reason why I never bought Audiothing's July since it was to close to Tal's Version.

Updated version online.

Preset browser improved, quick select and previous/next now available on bottom bar.

Tooltips added to all active controls.

New custom slider behavior: sliders now only move on drag (no more accidental jumps when clicking the handle), shift+drag for fine/precision adjustment, double-click resets to default

Thanks for the continued feedback.

Is this going to remain free?

Good question..Here is what it says on the product page:

"Get this beta for free or support my work by using "pay what you want" on Gumroad.
Final version may be paid only. No automatic upgrade. This beta may stop working at final release."

Post

The final version will be paid. Since a number of people have already supported the beta on
Gumroad, here's how we're handling it:

Beta is free or pay-what-you-want. Support the beta with €10 or more and you'll receive a free license for the final paid release of EightySix when it ships — no upgrade fee. My way of thanking the people who tested and supported the plugin early. Smaller contributions are gratefully received too.

About the beta lifecycle: This is a beta release and may stop functioning or stop being supported when the final version ships. As a small developer I can't realistically support an indefinite free version alongside paid releases — features, fixes, and refinements all move forward in the final build, and keeping the beta running in parallel isn't sustainable. Beta users will be given reasonable advance notice before the build deactivates, with enough time to decide whether to upgrade or move on.

Have a great Sunday everyone.
