I've recently migrated a lot of ableton files from my old computer to my newer one but on playback, I seem to be missing Novation Bass Station.

I've been searching the internet for the free legacy vst but can't seem to find it, so I was wondering whether anyone could post me a link.

Thanks

There wasn't a free legacy version of it. They discontinued it and for a while allowed it to be activated whether you owned it or not.

The activation server is now gone so it can't be activated on new hardware.

Ok. I didn't know that. I thought that they'd made it free and had forever been relegated to the "legacy" pile.

I'll just have to create some new patches without using novation's technology.

The more-or-less official replacement is the GForce Bass Station plugin. It's bundled free with some Novation controllers so if you can't get it free that way you should be able to find a cheap key in the Sell & Buy forum.

The copy protection is just a serial with no online requirement so you won't have a re-run of this situation.

Pretty sure there was as they allowed to download a general activation license for free.

I have an unused key (GForce Novation Bass Station) that I can sell for cheap, if the OP would be interested. Will not work with older projects trying to load the original Bass Station from Novation though.

IIRC one person claimed they had a generic keyfile but nobody else could reproduce that. Everyone else’s was machine-locked.

well i've found the .dll I downloaded ages ago...i'll just throw that in my vst folder and see what happens

I liked V-station. I bought a Novation Launchkey mini just to get these two synths for free, since Novation was charging a decent amount for them alone.

Does this post from mikeyo help? If you previously activated the plugin and saved the license file, there's a chance that will work.

I have the file, but I don't remember if the servers were still up when I installed it (2022 probably). But it's activated on this machine.
