I wish that they would release the Mini/Ultranova, Take 5 or a updated V-Station as a vst instead of another Prophet 5 Emulation.

So this will be the first vst from GForce that I will try out so i can compare it with my other Prophet 5 Emulations before i decide if it is worth buying.

I bought most of their plugins instantly since I didn't have other vst's to compare them with and the Bass Station was improved up to super Bass station territory so it replaced the old Bass station plugin i have and the intro prices where low enough so i didn't have to think twice about it :)
Yeah I wish they had done some other novation synth as well instead. Doing an emulation that has already been done by u-he and softube is never a good idea. But what bugs me is eventually I probably won’t be able to resist the gforce take on it!

Anyways what thread are we in? Oh Memorymoog. Yeah tried it and bla whatever.

I edited my post to after i realized i was in the Arturia Memory Moog thread after i replied :hihi:
I already have similar sounds covered so i won't buy it but i will probably get it in the Next V-Collection update if they add more interesting plugins to it before it is released :)

Already uninstalled the demo. Sounds nice, but I simply don't need it. With so many virtual analog synths available it all starts to become much of a muchness.

Downloaded.

GUI is horrible, don't understand why they have to stick that much to the hw, you can make controls bigger and most importantly make the labels readable!

Sound is nice, presets are nice but nothing special.

Now I like the extras, the arpeggiator is interesting, but then again it is an extra that should and probably will be in pigments at some point.

So, really not much point in getting this.

I'm like this with 95% of new VST releases TBH, I wonder if its all over for this type of thing...
X32 Desk, i9 PC, S88MK3, S1, BWS, Live + PUSH 3, Osmose, RedShift 6 Pro3, Tempera, Syntakt, Digitone II, OP1-F, OPXY, Eurorack, TD27 Drums, Guitars, Basses, Amps and of course lots of pedals!

I feel the same way when it comes to new hardware now that that market has started to get a bit saturated too.

What sort of magic can be done to make a basic Subtractive synth with the same waveforms unique from the rest these days when we already have all the sounds we want and more in both software and hardware.
I think the Synthesizer market have reached a oversaturated state with diminishing return if you already have a setup that you are familiar with that can make the sounds you like.

I will probably get it when a new V-collection is released but i won't buy it now.

I tried it just a little bit and agree with others that it doesn't have a lot of punch, and maybe sounds a bit bland or samey to other stuff. Maybe the Memorymoog is like that too. IDK - never had one.

Until you program a little deeper, similar things might be said about the Matrix 12V too, and that's one of my favorites. I need to spend a bit more time with it to see where it can go.

I think the Matrix-12 V sounds better than this. Hell I think the ARP 2600 V sounds better than this.

I own the Memorymoog and an Xpander, the Matrix 12 is a little closer to the hardware than this is. Both have issues with thin sounding oscillators, which IMO especially in the case of the Memorymoog completely misses the point. Moogs have huge sounding oscs, it's right up there with the ladder filter in terms of why they sound like they do. The current champ of getting a big osc sound is Atomika, and Diva still remains solid. I'll wait for the blow out sale on the bundle, this isn't replacing the Memorymoog, and bellieve me if it was I would be talking about how great it is, after selling mine of course! :hihi:

I've never played a Memorymoog before. I've heard it on a few songs, but that's about it.

Since I own the current V Collection, I was able to pick it up at a good price. To be honest, the factory sounds aren’t that exciting. But once you start tinkering with it a bit, you can really get some great sounds out of it. Using the “Mohawk” lead and “The Thickness” pad as a starting point, I’ve already created a few really good presets of my own.

I don’t think it’s necessarily a “must-have.” But with a little bit of work, you can get some really good presets out of it. So, at the bargain price, it wasn’t a bad buy for me.

You're talking about Cherry Audio Atomika? I went to demo it, and was informed that I already did that. I don't remember doing it, but I must have tried it and decided against it. Maybe I didn't give it a fair chance.

whether it sounds like a Memorymoog or not, I've always liked the voice modulation setup in the Memorymoog, it's super useful, so even if it doesn't sound like a MM, it at least has voice modulation etc.

Yeah, it's one of the better Cherry emulations, it's not hard at all to come up with solid bass with it, and there are multiple ways to dirty up the sound. Analog isn't about clean pristine sounds, might as well just us any old soft synth if that's what you want. Where most of them fail is pushing a sort of overdriven preamp saturator but subtle type sound on the signal and not having it just sound like you turned up a white noise dial. In other words the signal path in analog hardware tends to get dirty, but in a musical way, this is the usual downfall of soft synths, but not all, and Atomika does this very well.
