Any chance the partial graph is automatable? Turns out that drawing new waves and recording it is really fun. The only way I've done this successfully til now is in pure data and that doesn't work well in a daw.

THE TRIBUNAL FINDS YOU...sudara wrote: Sun Oct 26, 2025 10:09 pm ...let me plead my case to the council! Sine Machine is "early access" which means there's a number of missing things. MPE, offline auth and a spotty manual are among them. Even that video on the homepage is like 3 years old. All of that will take me a bit to wrap up. I wanted to let people start playing with it at a reduced price before more months pass by and it's suddenly 2026. I've been building this for too many years, I had to get it out and see evidence that people will actually enjoy it, etc!
GUILTY.
I'm having fun with it, though I will say that without the real time expression that can be added using MPE, it's a bit underwhelming for me, but I trust it's coming. I couldn't even get per voice stuff going using the CLAP plugin, so I assume that will happen as well.

It does sound pretty great with MTS-ESP... get a wonky chord in an unusual tuning going, then set Stiffness to where it becomes consonant. It's a nerdy thrill, especially after reading Tuning Timbre Spectrum Scale.
It might be nice to be able to push the Stiffness even farther, or even an unrealistic "inverse stiffness" to detune the other way. I guess that'd be squish tuning, as opposed to stretch tuning?

Sounds nice. However it bogs my 12-core intel mac pro down too much to be usable. : (

Thanks everyone for the feedback! I've been working the last months on features, bugs, perf and there's a huge amount of improvements on the last version.
Some highlights:
* Linux support (in beta, but so far so good)
* Offline license support
* Huge keyboard accessibility improvements
* Added 38 new presets and a new preset search
* Performance improvements (2x faster dsp on Intel Macs, meaningful dsp and graphics speedups everywhere else)
* A billion DAW fixes, some new features and quality of life UI improvements
See the changelog for more detail.
I recorded a series of 5 walkthroughs
I'm also working with a cartoonist friend of mine making some interactive comics about additive synthesis. Parts 1 and 2 are out now, excited to make more of these.

My plan is to come out of early access soon. I'll probably bump the minimum price up a bit to $60 at that point in time...

Sorry about that! I procrastinated the perf improvements for intel macs but the recent update should be at least 2x faster on the dsp side. On my old iMac it went from hitting overloads on low notes with high unison voices to playing quite smoothly, so hopefully that's in the past!plexuss wrote: Sat Nov 08, 2025 6:56 pm Sounds nice. YES. I actually prototyped this, but didn't quite get happy with it. It's on the list for post-launch though!foosnark wrote: Wed Oct 29, 2025 3:18 am It might be nice to be able to push the Stiffness even farther, or even an unrealistic "inverse stiffness" to detune the other way.
