Bring down the VCF slider in the response section, I think it's been set too high.

I thought the Juno 6 has a free running oscillator, with an option to manually trigger it?

You're right that the real Juno-6 has a free-running LFO. The problem is on our end: the framework we're using doesn't let me share a single free-running LFO across all the polyphonic Faust voices, and I have no control over that. So for now it isn't possible — though it's something I'd like to solve down the line.

I've been in sound design and music production for 30 years and have yet to encounter a situation where a globally free-running LFO across all poly voices was actually necessary. But I'm not against it — if enough people genuinely need it and are willing to back it financially, I'll gladly explore it for a future update.

Post

Maybe give each voice its own LFO and somehow have them clock together?

Is this still in beta, or has it officially been released yet?

Here's some of my stuff: https://soundcloud.com/shadowsoflife. If you hear something you like, I'm looking for collaborators.

It is still a free beta, but pretty much complete. Things I still have to add are the envelope polarity switch, and the arpeggiator. But at the moment I'm busy working on the linux version first.

Linux version is now available

Well, the Linux version just dropped — so by your own rule, "No Linux, No Buy" becomes "Got Linux, Must Buy." We'll be watching for that order. 🐧

Thanks a lot for the Linux version. :tu:

Ooh! Linux support!! Nice!! What kind of copy protection do you use?
Vendor‑Dependent Copy Protection: Customers lose. Pirates win.
(Also: I'm Accused of lying about Linux—it boots, runs my pro audio workflow, stays stable, updates--though yearly dismissed as “niche”. Yet I'm the deluded one.)

Free? I thought the plan was to be payware. I only buy plugins that are not vendor dependent on authorization. In other words, the ability to have the software archived, along with the authentication, and in the future when a product is discontinued or the vendor is out of business, I would expect to still be able to authenticate the plugin on a new machine.

If you plan on making it payware, and you plan to have copy protection, I would want to know what copy protection you use. I hope that makes sense. :)

My intention is to pay for the software. I don't expect it to be free forever. :)

EDIT: Besides, as I understand it, these free versions are all set to time out at some point. I would want to get the full version that doesn't time out. :)

No decision has been made on any of that yet, so I honestly can't give you an accurate answer at this stage. Right now my focus is entirely on the sound and DSP — the licensing, copy protection, and distribution questions all come later, and I haven't turned my attention to them yet. At this stage the plugin does no use copyright protection.

That said, I hear you on wanting authorization that isn't vendor-dependent and survives a product being discontinued. It's a reasonable thing to care about, and I'll keep it in mind when the time comes to make those decisions. Once there's anything concrete to share on pricing and protection, I'll make sure it's communicated clearly on our website.

Appreciate the interest, and the intention to support the work.

At this stage the plugin is free and does not use copy protection. Whether a paid version will come, and what mechanism it would use, will depend on whether the "pay what you want" option can cover my costs or not — answering a multitude of questions I'd never have imagined, included. ;-)
