had a chance to play with this and had a good time :)

The tube setting + the multiband drive knobs are where I had the most fun. I got some interesting results on the drum bus (electronic music with sampled drum beats) by setting the threshold aggressively, setting the master mix to 40-50% and then tweaking the multiband controls to add presence, punch and even reduce mud.

I think the controls are well thought out and easy to use.

I also liked using tube mode on synth bass and found some saturation sweet spots that sounded quite analogue-y and sometimes sounded better than by usual saturation options.

I was being quite aggressive with it but the plug-in responded well and the multi-band options prevented me from painting myself into a corner even when I was pushing it.

I'm sure you could get a nice accumulative effect from adding the gentle 'patina' preset to many elements on a mix.

Good job!

Thanks a lot for the detailed feedback — really appreciated!

Really glad to hear Tube mode and the multiband drive controls worked well on drum bus and synth bass. That’s exactly the kind of use case I was hoping for.

And yes, Patina is one of my favorite presets too.

Thanks again for trying it!

SOL-5 has been updated to v1.2.22.

I found and fixed an important bug where oversampling was not actually being applied correctly. A few smaller bugs have also been fixed.

The latest build should now represent the intended sound and behavior much more accurately, so please use this version for any further testing.

Thanks again for the feedback so far.

SOL-5 is now officially released, together with SOL-6 Flo Compressor.

Since the release now includes Mac support and SOL-6 as well, I’ve opened a new release thread here.

I noticed that on a 13-inch laptop running REAPER, the right side of the UI could end up slightly off-screen.
So I've now added automatic size detection, along with a resize menu button in the top bar.

Also still looking for testers on Apple Silicon Macs (especially M2 and newer).

Thanks again for all the feedback so far.

Thanks, that would be very helpful.

SOL-5 was released yesterday, so the beta test for this version is already closed.

However, Apple Silicon testing is always very useful, especially on newer M-series Macs. I’ll definitely keep you in mind when I start the next beta test.

Thanks again!
