To add to the list of cheaper alternatives mentioned earlier, you could give HoRNets Sleek a go.

I'll check my Plugin Folder, I think I may have some others in there

It is a Fork of the original Spectral Compressor by Robbert van der Helm.
It works really great!

Coincidentally a new similar plugin has just been released with an intro-price that is roughly half of Soothe's update fee - would be interesting to compare the two:

I got it for free but it sounds really bad, I don't know if it's a bug but it sounds like a comb filter when you open itAlexander_D wrote: Sat May 30, 2026 7:19 amSeems that this code was expired...zeep wrote: Fri May 29, 2026 8:16 pmIt's free with the code RESSUPPROMOBPB100jens wrote: Fri May 29, 2026 4:05 pm Coincidentally a new similar plugin has just been released with an intro-price that is roughly half of Soothe's update fee - would be interesting to compare the two:

You folks find you need a resonance suppressor for your own work, or is this just mixing other people, or? I'm still in the pre-2016 times.
The only one that interests me at this point is the free Anina and that's because I saw that you can use it as a vocoder.

I think that's a relevant question.TechHaus wrote: Sat May 30, 2026 4:58 pm You folks find you need a resonance suppressor for your own work, or is this just mixing other people, or?
Superior Drummer 3 comes with an extensive library recorded by George Massenburg. Now that same man also provided kit-presets for the library - one for each of the included seven kits.
And believe it or not, each of these presets has EQ on several channels. So he - renowned recording engineer that he is - recorded the - according to his expertise - best kits he could find with all the expensive gear he found the most appropriate (including his favourite mics for each respective application) hit by a pro drummer...
...and then after all of that he still felt he had to put EQ on several of the channels within the software?
Really? I don't think so.
But of course we might have a better excuse if we have to record our maybe sub-par acoustic-guitars in untreated rooms using mediocre mics... but still: if we possibly can, it's much better to try to get the source right somehow, rather than trying to fiddle with loooong chains of plugins in order to seek to polish our turds.
Whenever I open some random gutar-modeller suite and try some of the included presets I'm shocked at the sheer amount of processing whoever crafted the preset deemed neccesary.
And that's probably some of the same guys who mod their axes until barely an original piece is left on the effing thing. (And of course it all sounds like crap.)

Make it much better, drop ilokk, drop the price and I am interested again.
I owned S2, sold it. Kinda miss it every now and then.
The alternatives I own kinda do that job which I don't look for too often.
