gyohng, I think it is nice to see someone compare products in an analytic way. That way it is not based on 1. peoples feeling, 2. what they have heard from others and 3. who got the best marketing department ;)

If you got the time I would love to see the two-tone test done on the more limiters and posted on this board. Don't forget our freebee, the Classic Master Limiter http://www.kjaerhusaudio.com/classic-master-limiter.php

Good job!

Best Regards

yeah, such a comparison chart would be very intersting. i must say that ive tested the TLS max (coz of all the rave about it on kvr) and didnt like it. as gyohng said, it seems to distort stuff. the classic limiter is my weapon of choice at the mo.
erm..

Yes, but the tests are with certain arbitrary settings.

Yes, you are right! And in the end it is the sound of normal music on which it should be judged. The exact same distortion (or what ever one would call it) could be a part of an algorithm that improved the sound more than it destroys. That's the kind of decisions of one always have to make and it is better to make a plugin for use with music than to use with sine waves.

I just tried W1 in Cubase SX 2.2.0.39 and I think it sounds really good. I´ve got a couple of problems though. First, it doesn´t seem to work with audio mixdown. The rendered wav file sounds as if W1 was disabled during mixdown. Second, it crashes Cubase every now and then. Mostly when a/b-ing using the bypass button in the master channel.

Has anyone else noticed these problems? :help:

Hey, Daniel, it's good to hear from you.

I missed your eager good nature.

Stick around. :)

I've compared Tls maximizer with just about all freeware and found it to have the best, most natural sound.

They all sound bad if you push them too much.
That goes for payware as well.

I prefer my ears to analytics. That's what I usually listen with.

gyohng,

Any chance of a Mac AU version? I, for one, would be highly interested. And I assure you there are several of me inside my head( :hihi: )
