It refuses description, allowing only the vague approach of adjectives: dark, light, raw, angelic. Who or what is making these noises? Where are they coming from and what do they point to? What kind of entity can leave such a troubling sonic remnant?

X32 Desk, i9 PC, S88MK3, S1, BWS, Live + PUSH 3, Osmose, RedShift 6 Pro3, Tempera, Syntakt, Digitone II, OP1-F, OPXY, Eurorack, TD27 Drums, Guitars, Basses, Amps and of course lots of pedals!

Edit: the website is by a third party and not affiliated with Ableton. Just for clarification.

I know. This thread is not meant as a replacement. If things are going in a similar direction like with Max for Live devices we'll see a "flood" of extensions. Check the Max for Live device library :D I like our Max for Live thread and find it useful – hope the same goes for this one.

No time for the Live beta but this seems like a must have extension

Ableton are going to have to do something about the Extensions part of the context menu, like allow nested folders or something, otherwise we're going to need an Extension to manage running our massive collections of Extensions....

I suck at coding, so maybe my question sounds stupid. Is it possible, with this new extension system, to create an interface between midi or key signals and Ableton live shortcuts ? So I can play a note and this note becomes a shift+S for exemple ?
A guy just released and app that does that and it seems great (it’s called trigger Ableton key hacker by all good folks) but maybe it’s possible to reproduce it easily with extensions…

It says it is free, but when you want to download, you have to pay.

Post

It's free for paid Ableton Live customers.

How do we get it free, then? Even the link on the official Extensions Discord take you to the paid Gumroad page.

Extensions (ABLX) are a new feature included in an upcoming - no cost, free - update for Suite user (beta for now).

The extension I posted is a third party ABLX and yes it's commercial (I'm not the dev btw). The "system" is similar to Max for Live devices; an ABLX can be free or paid. It is up to the dev.

Just got corrected. liveextensions.co is not affiliated with Ableton.

Ideally there should be different entry points rather than just the right click menu anyway. That would be a proper scripting API. If I remember correctly, e.g. Renoise allows Lua scripts to pretty much insert themselves anywhere, like the top bar main menu and so on.

Yes, but ksandvik said it was free, so I queried that.

Yeah, i know, I was posting about them five days ago, in the original KVR thread about them, ie the day they were announced. I think its safe to say that everyone posting in this thread for listing available Live Extensions probably knows what Live's Extensions are.
