Hey all — it's been a long time (and a lot of versions) since I last checked
in here. Gridshift is now on 0.15.2. The big additions since 0.7:

• Return tracks + sends
• Linked clips
• Automation clips can have multiple relative and absolute target parameters. LFO shapes can be generated.
• Sample library with smart sample search. Find samples by description or style and sort by similarity to sample on the current track. Preview your song with alternative sample before committing
• Sample Editor for slicing and tempo syncing with integrated stem mixer
• iCloud sync for sample library metadata, categories, favorites, shortcuts, and MIDI bindings across Macs.
• MIDI-controller bindings (map any CC/note to any action)
• Audio recording from your interface
• Performance + stability

@eclipxe — you asked about ghost/alias clips back in March. They're in now as
Linked Clips: duplicate with ⌘D and the copies stay linked (edit one, they all
change), ⌘⇧D for an independent copy, ⌘I to unlink.

@3lu5iv3 — "vs Bitwig?": Gridshift is lean and keyboard-first, in-the-box, no stock plugins (you bring
your own AUs). It's about speed and getting ideas down with minimal clicks, not
matching a mature DAW feature-for-feature. If you need Bitwig's
modulation/device ecosystem today, this won't replace that.

@Uncle E — thank you, genuinely, for sticking with it and the detailed feedback.

Gridshift is now my favorite DAW for getting ideas down quickly and testing new plugins. It loads immediately and the three musical keyboard modes make it ideal for when I don't have a MIDI controller hooked up.

Last time I tried it (a month and a Half or so ago) it was using tremendous amounts of CPU on my M1 Mac. Has that been addressed?

The command palette idea is so good I am surprised none of the big guys ever adapted it.
